Well for you, you're obviously going to get into HYS so they don't want you to reject them.scoobers wrote:we are in a relatively similar boat.edwardt1988 wrote:Sigh...
Complete since late nov. 177/ 25-50% GPA. Applied last year and got rejected with a lower LSAT. Radio silence this time around. It's so frustrating when seeing these quick turnarounds
complete since mid november, >75th LSAT and 50-75th GPA, radio silence.
For me, they probably just don't like me

Hey Vaheezy, are you located in the east coast by any chance? I have a 3.84/169 and went complete at a similar time but haven't heard back...kinda concerned...

I have similar numbers (higher LSAT) and am on the west coast and have been complete since late November. There doesn't seem to be a complete rhythm to it, I wouldn't be worried.tmkm wrote:Congrats!vaheezy wrote:Got the acceptance phone call this morning. 3.6/168. Complete on 1/10

Thanks! No, I'm actually in Los Angeles. I have two years of work experience, if anyone cares. I'd say my personal statement was strong, but letters of rec were probably pretty weak/generic.

Would you PM me your numbers also, please?
I received the email notification of a complete packet on 20 September and have watched several people cycle through completely. I'm wondering why I have yet to hear anything.

That is brutal... I wish the application process was more transparent. There seems to be no real correlation between complete dates and the decision.Magical Trevor wrote:Would you PM me your numbers also, please?

Hey everyone. I'm a current student in the ambassador program. In a week or so, I'll be sending emails out to admitted students lucky(?) enough to get paired up with me. The school gave us some suggested talking points if you're too lazy to write your own emails, but I'd rather personalize things up a bit. My problem is I have no idea what to discuss. If you were one of my admits, what would you want to hear about? Anything you're tired of hearing about? I think last year's class complained about how much admissions harped on the weather (but seriously, it's awesome).

Maybe, but with so many people focused on CA schools getting bad news today it might have just gone under the radar. I know I still haven't heard anything, 127 days and counting.krispymenudo wrote:on a real level, has anyone heard anything today?

Re: UCLA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
The weather is a huge draw (to me), but it really does go without saying. I'd personally be most interested in information relating to career outcomes and support at UCLA, because if I were to choose it, I'd be choosing it over schools with better employment stats and would want information to justify that decision.SisyphusHappy wrote:Hey everyone. Sorry for being dense and uninformed, but what's this about CA schools getting bad news?Magical Trevor wrote:

That's so cool you're asking us this.SisyphusHappy wrote:Hey everyone. I'm a current student in the ambassador program. I think I'd like to know about all the interesting ways you can spice up your 2L and 3L years with clinics, externships, clerkships, specialized/independent study, study abroad, journals, etc., and how non-traditional one's schedule can be as a result (like the 3L who has one class on campus, a journal, an externship and a clerkship). I'd like to know how supportive career services is and how much practice and tutoring they give you for preparing a resume, doing an interview, how to get a contact from a mixer/networking event, etc. I'd like to know what the standards are for getting onto the various journals.
Tired of hearing about: How much camaraderie there is among the students, and how the stuff about ultra-competitive students tearing pages out of books or hiding books just doesn't go on here (every school says this, and it's likely true, which is why it's so tiresome to hear about).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
