Just told Hastings no. Hope the spot goes to one of you. Cheers
Did you decide where you are going?
Is this, in part, because of the drop to Tier 2?

I really am fed up with the US News Ranking. Screw the Tier 2 stuff. I don't buy the idea of Utah being a T1 school.

My choice had more to do with competition from other schools as far as location and finances.

Waitlisted by email today. Really surprised. Won't say my numbers but I am in at schools like UW and Davis if that helps. They say not to send anything, but I would really like to do a LOCI as it was (is) still a top choice. I know some people earlier said that they were going to go ahead and send in a LOCI, however, would this put me at a disadvantage? Annoying them will not help things....

I don't think a humble LOCI would annoy them...

Are you a YP? When did you hear from Davis btw? They still haven't admitted me yet..

One good thing about Hastings taking a big hit in the ranking and becoming a tier 2 law school is that many people might withdraw and that could mean more money available for scholarships. But seriously!, Now, how can Hastings justify their 40 plus instate tuition? They do not have the employment numbers of Davis, they are not highly ranked as Davis, they are are not now a tier 1 law school like Berkely,Stanford, UCLA, USC and Davis. Of course the top 5 percent will be do fine, as the top 5 percent will do fine in any law school in the country. But after that it is going to be a blood bath. Its going to get ugly, as I just realised that from the class of 2012, about 100 Hastings graduates (95 to be exact) from class of 2012 are unemployed and are still seeking a job.

Just received an additional $5k renewable merit scholarship with no stip to add to the $13k need based scholarship. Might be too little too late though... At least for me.

The additional money is great news, as I predicted there will be so many withdrawals, especially now that they took a hit in their rankings due to their poor employment numbers. I can see Hastings being a decent option if they offer a scholly of fifty thousand a year, anything less is not worth it considering the poor employment numbers.

Do you all think that is the 2012 data and that the next two year's meaning 2013 and 2014 graduating class data will bring the school up? Since Dean Wu is cutting the class sizes?

Can I trade you my spot in Hastings for your spot in Davis?

Nothing new on my end and I was in the first wave of $13k scholarship emails. Definitely surprised.

See now I'm confused. One would assume you would get it first if you're originally first in that other wave

I also got a 5k boost per year. It is a separate scholarship.

It's not enough to make it financial feasible for me to attend, however.

Same here, and same here
Why is it too late? What's the scholarship called? Is it separate or an increase of the 13k?
I haven't received mine yet... :( Did it come via email just now?
It's called Ken Olivier

Same LSAT as you with a SLIGHTLY lower GPA... Weird that you didn't get the offer. Maybe check your spam folder?

Just got it. Do you guys think we'll get more? I mean after all the $5k isn't the scholarships of $10k they have on their website?

I'm thinking of emailing them to ask. Your guys's email came from Director Zerbe right? Signed by Dean Canada?

Now that their ranking has dropped, can I use my 30K at SCU to negotiate?
