I was complete on 10/17 and just got in today. I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to the order of their decisions so far.

Well it looks like there's been a lot of good news this morning, so congrats to everyone that has been accepted! And for those worrying about not sending in a Why Michigan, couldn't you just send one in now? It wouldn't take that long, and it would at least ease your mind about it.

Chances of getting in without any optional essays? Also, is it a separate process for $ money? Don't want to skip a why X essay and end up with no money. I would def go to Michigan over HYS if they offered the right $.

Congrats to everyone getting in! I agree with livefromannarbor, can't wait for everyone to be celebrating. (Thats a thing that happens, right? we just ALL get in? Eugh.)

Everyone gets considered for merit scholarships. The website talks about it here: http://www.law.umich.edu/financialaid/a ... es/1L.aspx

I would hesitate to make any kind of guess on the chances of admission without essays, but for what it's worth, I wrote 2 extra though neither was a why michigan. I heard back really quickly, and while there are other factors that may have been at play, I wouldn't rule out that having helped. I'd be interested to hear what supplemental essays other admits wrote, though, just out of curiosity.

Welcome! I only wrote the Why Mich. I would have written a diversity statement if that subject wasn't already significantly discussed in my personal statement. Good luck!

I wrote 5 (diversity) and 8 (educational experiences and success/failures).

I can't remember which supplemental essays I wrote, but I know I wrote at least two.

Still complete under the status checker. I've been that way for almost a week.

It'd be perfect to get an acceptance ASAP because it would definitely take away a lot of this senior year stress :?
