Received a letter increasing my scholarship amount! This may be good news for anyone considering trying to negotiate.

Also, FYI, the merit scholarship award amount does not change if you choose to enroll part-time, rather than full-time. This makes the award amount a significantly higher percentage of tuition, relatively. Good info for anyone who is still deciding between programs.

Hey all!

I was accepted but filled in my intent to enroll elsewhere. Hopefully my spot can go to someone else! (And my 10k/year scholly).

Good luck!

My app finally went complete on 3/31, and just had a date change now. Still says application complete. Any consensus on what their date changes mean? No e-mail or anything.

Its progressing through the process.

From my experience...if you make it through date changes, you are not auto rejected. so thats good

Okay, thanks. I *should* be admitted, but with all this YP crap and applying so late in the cycle, I'm slightly concerned.

I was checking my email and the first I saw was for admitted students, and then later I realized the earlier email informing me of acceptance. Is anyone attending admitted students day? Also, does anyone know if travel stipends are offered?

Got accepted into PT program today. 2.57 GPA and 160 LSAT. Good softs, Rockstar recommendations.

Haven't heard anything about a scholly yet though. Called, she said it would come in the next few days.

What does YP mean though? And if its yield protect which I suspect why did I get in?

From my understanding, yp is just for rejecting people who overqualify who pretty much for sure won't be going. But law schools this year is still pretty low on application numbers so maybe they still haven't filled their quota. Maybe they just see that you're a future moneymaker. I don't know. But yeah, I've heard american is doing a tremendous amount of shady things to keep up a well built staff. The dealbreaker for me was the fact that already about 500 people matriculated for this year. And that's still not including me, you, and a bunch of people on this forum. That's crazy for a single class. 300 cutting down to 250 is already still not that impressive ...
But anyways, congrats on getting in!

Received $17,500 scholarship today via email. Came a bit late for me to consider changing plans, especially since I have much higher offers closer to home. Calling tomorrow to ask again about PIPS and withdrawing if I don't get a real answer - hope someone here gets my $.

When ya'll quote those scholarship $ amounts, are you using the total (over 3 years) #, the yearly #, or per semester#?

Think the people posting 17.5k are years because that's what I have.

Yearly.
Same. Had a call back about PIPS. Second round of invitations was released, more will follow depending on how many applicants accept. I'm withdrawing tonight, $17,500/yr, good academic standing is the only stip. I hope someone here gets it, thanks to everyone who participated in this thread!

Honestly I'm really frustrated and kindof scared right now. I have no idea what to do. My income is maybe $10k a year at best, they only offered me $7,500/yr merit, and gave me zero grants even with an EFC of 0 (and the max stafford loan - 20,500). There's no way in heck I can come up with ~$30k a year in private loans. I'm going to attempt to call the FA office tomorrow. Other than that, what am I supposed to do? Any suggestions?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
