Incredible! From rejected to accepted in 40 mins! Congrats and good work on the retake.jusman26 wrote:Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier message about the improved LSAT score.
Thanks ESPECIALLY to the guy who told me to let all of the schools who rejected me know about my new score. Within 40 minutes of sending my score to the schools that rejected me, Duke responded and gave me an acceptance! The long and painful journey of applying, rejections, waitlists, followup emails, taking the LSAT twice etc is over!
Coming from the most cynical person in existence: THERE IS HOPE!!!
Good luck everyone. PM me if you have an questions or suggestions.

Nothing about scholarships or anything, so it may be too expensive for me to go, but goddamn this is cool!

Congrats!!! Thats sooooo exciting! Crossing my fingers for scholarship money for you.
What did the first email say? Was it from the director of jd admissions?
I got a feeler email on Friday from her and didn't receive the update email either. Just wishful thinking.....

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2013
Just had to share a very unprofessional experience I've had with the admissions office. I received one of those "we have a couple spots, tell us how interested you are" emails late last week. Since I faced a tight deadline at another school, I replied saying I was extremely interested, would love to attend, and that I would be interested in talking with the director of JD admissions who had sent the interest-gauging email about how to address my situation. A bit later I followed up my email with a call to the office and was told that since I couldn't get through just then, I could leave a message and the director would get back to me. Almost a full week and a couple more attempts to follow up later, Ive never heard back, either by email or phone, and they apparently passed right over me on the WL because I had a time constraint.
Georgetown is a great school no doubt, and I am certainly happy with how my admissions cycle turned out in the end, but this was just a disappointing end to my interactions with Georgetown that I thought was well below the level of professionalism I would expect from the school. Doesn't really mean anything at this point, but I just thought I'd share.

Unfortunately, your experience hardly surprises me. In relation to admissions offices at other law schools, I have found that at Georgetown to be rather callous and unaccountable, and seemingly unprofessional, though, admittedly, better than GW's. I can only hope that this office is not an accurate reflection of the prevailing mentality of the broader GULC.

I really think July 29th will be a big day. That is when ppl. are going to decide whether or not they want to swallow the debt. If people are going to withdraw that certainly seems like the day.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2013
You're likely right. As must as I want to attend Georgetown, if I were actually accepted from the wait list, the prospect of doing so absent any aid, which is to say, at sticker price, is, put rather mildly, sobering. $80G/year is reason for pause. It's not hard to imagine that several people might withdraw when confronted with this fact. Even if any of us "get lucky," aka are admitted, Georgetown remains a horribly expensive undertaking in an unprecedentedly depressed labor market.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2013
Nope. How long would you all stay on the waitlist until? Would you really attend Georgetown if you were admitted just two weeks before classes begin?

In with $20k/year via e-mail a few hours ago. Was sitting in a plane on the tarmac en route to Chicago to scout out Northwestern housing. Now I have no idea what to do.

An embarrassment of riches lol. I'd choose the school giving u the most money as they are pretty comparable. Congrats on a hell of a cycle.bananasplit19 wrote:In with $20k/year via e-mail a few hours ago. Was sitting in a plane on the tarmac en route to Chicago to scout out Northwestern housing.
