Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
As an accepted student, I'm pretty overloaded with my Senior Thesis in my second semester of Senior year. I originally took a course for fun that I don't need for any credit, but now it's taking up a great deal of time and taking away from my thesis. How would Harvard feel about one WX on my record, considering I don't have any others?

Wow! The same thing is happening to me this semester. I'm thinking one W won't be as bad as earning below a B. Plus, the W won't affect your GPA right?zdamico wrote:As an accepted student, I'm pretty overloaded with my Senior Thesis in my second semester of Senior year. HLS took 7 business days on my financial aid package. They are true to their word.

Have you tried logging in to check? My email went to the spam folder so I didn't know to look, just happened to and it was online.Pittpanther wrote:It has been 14 business days and still no word on my financial aid

Has anyone else found the sheer volume of financial information required by HLS to be rather challenging to submit?

I don't think it was really that much more than need access required... or maybe you just have a more complicated financial situation then mearedhello wrote:Has anyone else found the sheer volume of financial information required by HLS to be rather challenging to submit?

Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
I didn't think that my parents' financial situation was all that complicated, and though they live comfortably, they are certainly not wealthy (at least not according to President Obama when he was out on the campaign trail last year) -- but every little thing does seem to require a separate form and additional documentation. I'd also be lying if I didn't acknowledge that part of the reason why I am frustrated is because I have been out of college and without my parents' financial support for nearly 7 years now -- but I miss making the age 29 cutoff for parental information by less than a month.
That being said, I am all for thoroughness and fairness in distributing limited financial aid resources, and I am all for need-based aid programs serving those who need it the most, so I don't really have a legitimate bone to pick here. Was just curious if anyone else had found this whole process to be quite tedious (considerably more so than Need Access, in my opinion).

They haven't requested anything new. I've been checking the website to make sure. Maybe they're just very busy this week.davee817 wrote:Did you check to see if they've requested additional docs on the financial aid website?Pittpanther wrote:It has been 14 business days and still no word on my financial aid

So...I have this theory. I heard that schools can judge an applicant's interest based off of how many times they log into their status checker page. Who's with me??
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
