I didn't think it was that pretty at first, until I compared it to my LSAT watch.shntn wrote:How is it pretty? Pics!

lol
It's more that it's thin and feels elegant for a USB drive. They didn't go with the absolute cheapest model, so I guess that's nice.

Judging by the one I got today, I think all law schools get their flash drives from the same supplier.Xs20 wrote:I didn't think it was that pretty at first, until I compared it to my LSAT watch.shntn wrote:How is it pretty? Pics!

I'll be there all weekend. Probably hitting a couple bars on Friday or Saturday night for my friend's birthday, if anyone else will be out too.T20hopeful89 wrote:Flight booked for January 24th! Anyone staying the weekend?

Some were and some were not. It is definitely an excellent idea. I would email them about it ASAP.wannabelawstudent wrote:Were you guys asked to do an interview? My application was completed today and I'm debating about contacting them for an interview.

I keep getting more and more excited about WUSTL...St. Louis in general looks pretty cool. Ive been looking at all the different neighborhoods and Central West End seems like a really cool area.

I think most of us (just from reading the thread) were invited to interview. Dunno how it works if you request one on your ownJakeAsch wrote:Some were and some were not. I wish there was more info on their job placement though, reading WUSTL's OCI thread wasn't very encouraging at all

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
I know a 3L at wash u who recently got a 2 year clerkship in the EDNY. She mentioned to me that almost everyone she knows has a job offer already, both those on law review and off (she is on law review and said everyone on has an offer for something).
I'm not sure how that makes people feel, since she obviously doesn't know EVERY student, but made me feel a little better...

The website has a section that mentions you can set up your own interview. If you are very interested in WUSTL and have a good reason why you are interested beyond ranking that you can share with them, then I think setting up an interview would show initiative and help your cause.
Anyone blindly requesting an interview that doesn't have much to say might be better waiting for an offer. Admissions personnel can see right through interview platitudes.

Is there any breakdown of salary info to speak of? Only thing I could find at all was the US News private/public sector medians.

All those flash drives are going to come in handy at Harvard.shntn wrote:Judging by the one I got today, I think all law schools get their flash drives from the same supplier.Xs20 wrote:I didn't think it was that pretty at first, until I compared it to my LSAT watch.shntn wrote:How is it pretty? i.e. assume that students at firms with 501+ attorneys are making 160K starting etc...
You'd probably end up getting invited for an interview anywaywannabelawstudent wrote:a2blifeUIUC wrote:http://law.wustl.edu/admissions/pages.aspx?id=9556wannabelawstudent wrote:Were you guys asked to do an interview? I have good enough numbers to get in I hope (LSAT 167), just curious about the process. I went ahead and e-mailed them. We'll see.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
Just got the flash drive and travel reimbursement form in the mail today. The first admitted students day is right before my birthday and Im thinking of asking for a little help to cover the costs from my family as a present. Otherwise I should be able to pay the difference. I'd really like to get a good feel for St. Louis.

Just RSVP'd for ASD on the 25th. Looking forward to meeting all the other admits there.
Heard the campus is beautiful. Anybody know the best way to get there from the airport and get back? As well as hotel recommendations?

The St. Louis Light Rail runs directly from the airport to University City, from there it's like a 1-minute walk to campus. When I visited last year I just stayed at a Best Western near the airport, but I wouldn't recommend it because you basically have to take the rail from campus to the airport and a taxi to the motel. Or a taxi directly to the motel. You'd be much better off finding a hotel near campus or near a rail stop, unless price is a big issue

I agree taxi and ask for a flat rate to WashU or take the metro. There's a hotel on campus next to the law building but my guess is its probably booked for the weekend. The campus is beautiful and the law school has the best food on campus!cusenation wrote:Tremendous wrote:Just RSVP'd for ASD on the 25th. Looking forward to meeting all the other admits there.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
Mine was with Mary Ann Clifford and it was really laid-back and easy. She just asked a few questions about my personal statement and resume, asked about my interest in law, told me some things about WUSTL, etc. It was really more of a conversation than an interview.wannabelawstudent wrote:yes! just got asked if I could interview on monday...woohoo. Anyone got any advice?
About halfway through she offered me admission, which was awesome.
Good luck!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
