Waitlisted by email at about 2pm. Haha, and sometimes being right is unpleasant.

If YP is designed to minimize the number of accepts that have changed their mind about enrolling, then the admissions committee made exactly the right decision. Still, I'm a little butthurt over it. Withdrawing - hopefully one of you will enjoy the spot.

Some dates and numbers for reference:
Applied: December 31, 2012
Received: January 1, 2013
Complete: January 23, 2013
Decision, Waitlist: March 29, 2013
LSAT: 166
UGPA: N/A - attended an undergrad institution that did not grant grades
Non-traditional: 9 years post-undergrad work experience
PS focused on public service (mostly stuff that I do in D.C.)

I just received my financial aid email, and my award package on AUportal just has the FD $20,500 unsubsidized loan in the 'accept my award tab'. Is there a separate place for merit/need-based grants or is this it?

Sames. I think it would be there if they gave you a merit scholly. Also, you would've received notification via email. They're beyond stingy....

Sames. I think it would be there if they gave you a merit scholly. Also, you would've received notification via email. They're beyond stingy....

I'm pretty sure it should all show in the 'accept my award tab.' Both my merit/need-based grants were under that tab.

Yikes. If they think I do not qualify for any need based aid already, it is hard to believe there is any point in negotiating. good luck to others, hope someone else is getting the money!

Withdrew with a little sadness. I really liked the program, just not enough cash and questionable prospects. Freed up $20K, hopefully a lucky TLSer gets it.

Got my non-renewable scholarship offer today - 20k for the first year. Obviously that'd be less than 1/6 of the total tuition bill but it's still the highest I think I've seen on this board. Considering I was expecting the YP ding, not a bad showing.

Get on my level, I received $7,500 earlier in the cycle!

But yes, it is very insulting - why even send them out?

Somehow they still manage to lure in 500 students, they are making a fortune!

I withdrew on Thursday via email and got an offer today of $20,000 for one year. Weird. I thought I'd sent the withdrawal to the right email address.

I originally got no aid until I appealed based on the fact that I have a scholly that amounts to 50% tuition at a similar ranked school. And they came back with a one time 5k scholly. What...???

Withdrew. I politely asked for more money, showed them some really competitive offers from both higher and lower ranked schools and came up with zilch. I'm so over this school. It's unfortunate because I legitimately wanted to attend American even though it was one of the lower ranked schools I applied to.

Withdrew a few days ago, had the $20k offer as well. I would say that I hope my spot goes to someone here who wants it, but I'm not sure that anyone should be attending this school.
