I was really hoping for the first ED decisions to come out today, but I guess it'll be a little longer.

I don't have any particular info, but I have no trouble believing this. The NU admissions office is very savvy as to what's out there on the interwebz.crumpetsandtea wrote:By the way, because of a variety of reasons I'm not going to post because I'm already outed enough, I'm about 99% sure that the Admissions Committee reads TLS and particularly the NU-centric threads. I'm pretty sure it's a large part of the reason why 1) I got in relatively early with scholly money and 2) They were like LOLYEARIGHT when I threatened to leave b/c Vandy gave me a fuckton of money.rinkrat19 wrote:I don't have any particular info, but I have no trouble believing this. decision speculations aside, it's nice to see some activity in this thread. TLS was silent for most of the day today. Minus the GULC thread, which gets a ridiculous amount of traffic for some reason.crumpetsandtea wrote:I'm pretty sure it's a large part of the reason why 1) I got in relatively early with scholly money and 2) They were like LOLYEARIGHT when I threatened to leave b/c Vandy gave me a fuckton of money.rinkrat19 wrote:I don't have any particular info, but I have no trouble believing this. Bahhh!!! I'm going to force myself from obsessively status-checking now; was rather hopeful for today. Or at least this week...

interview process is extremely slow in my area, I have been waiting for more than 5 weeks. Submit my application in late Oct, I will be lucky if my file can be completed before Christmas.

It's because it's finals and my brain doesn't want to deal with the fear/stress so I cope by ignoring everything and megapoasting on TLS instead. \cusenation wrote:decision speculations aside, it's nice to see some activity in this thread. Y'all need to up the ante here. NU was easily the most active applicant thread last year (except maybe Michigan's)!

im off work for an extended period of time and part of me has been trying to do anything but wait for/think about my northwestern app obsessively. I think this plan is starting to fail. Desperately want to be living in Chicago next year.crumpetsandtea wrote:It's because it's finals and my brain doesn't want to deal with the fear/stress so I cope by ignoring everything and megapoasting on TLS instead. \cusenation wrote:decision speculations aside, it's nice to see some activity in this thread. Georgetown has a lot of decisions coming out week to week, and overall has like 3X as many applicants as many of these other schools, so more people to come around and post about the "3 updates" theory.cusenation wrote:decision speculations aside, it's nice to see some activity in this thread. Unless someone else queried Dean Lee (which is possible) his tweet does seem like a direct reaction to our posts yesterday once the db was reset, so I can believe he reads TLS.
I assume I am going to get deferred to regular decision anyway, but I wanted to get it out of the way and send my pre-prepared LOCI. While I think the ED scholarship was brilliant on their part, it unfortunately became a less valuable signaling tool for splitters- are we attracted by the money, or by the school? So hopefully I really can convince them they are my first choice...

Look at my screen name. Look at my ED application. You are the best and I love you very much. I walk by your building almost every day and stare longingly (but not creepily...I swear!). I only have eyes for you.

I can do you one better. I can see the school from my apt window when I sit at my desk. I was always planning to apply ED when I was thinking about law school, but then they added the money. I thought about applying RD, or even applying ED to Chicago instead, but then I thought if I were to get into both I'd still prefer NU as far as fit, but it's much tougher to get that across I feel...Fitz51 wrote:Dear Dean Rodriquez and Admissions Staff, crumpetsandtea wrote:By the way, because of a variety of reasons I'm not going to post because I'm already outed enough, I'm about 99% sure that the Admissions Committee reads TLS and particularly the NU-centric threads. Maybe after finals, lol. You do not want to hang out with an NU student right now if you want to one day attend NU. We are not in a fun place (but then again neither is anyone else at any other law school)Fitz51 wrote:Y'all wanna hang out?crumpetsandtea wrote:...It weirds me out that we probably live within a 5-10 minute walk from each other. o_o;;onionz wrote:I can do you one better. i try not to dwell on this. there is really too little data on splitters to stress about it. that's half the reason i've tried to be so conscientious about my lsn profile in the hopes it will be helpful to future splitters.cusenation wrote:How I feel as a splitter after looking at LSN graphs

I had a great interview with the nicest NU alum today. We talked for an hour and fifteen minutes about topics including JFK assassination conspiracy theories. Basically we killed it

I did not wear a suit (and the interview was at his office) but I'm a lady so who knows what I would have done if I was a man.

Probably a good idea to wear a suit. Or at least a shirt and tie (men)/skirt or slacks and blouse (women). Business formal or very tidy business casual.

Not but really, I wore a suit to mine, but do what you feel comfortable in. A coffee shop is fairly casual, but you wouldn't be out of place in a suit either.

It's always better to err on the side of being too formal!! Your interviewer will easily forgive you if he's in jeans and you're in a suit, not so much if it's the other way around.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
