last year early in the cycle, I saw people get in like just before noon and around 3pm.

Congrats. Those numbers should get you some money but be patient, I think usually their financial aid packages come pretty late in the game (think March-ish).

I think the justification is that it's partially need based, and they need a significant pool of admitted students to determine who gets what. Also, possibly to weed out the non-hustlers.

ETA: To the latter point, the delay actually may be better for you if you can prove significant need.

I accidentally checked that I would not be applying to financial aid on my app. I will have to call them to deal with this. I really want 50K.
