Here's to a week full of decisions. Maybe some of us will even get to go to the admitted students days.

For sure. I'm still waiting on 11 of 16 schools. Thats what you get for deciding to go to law in January, all my apps were last minute, including ASU.
Good luck all.

I don't know of another school that has not admitted their full class except Arizona State University. I fail to see the logic in this, but I refuse to believe there isn't a logical reason ASU does that.
The only rumor I heard was that they don't want people who are lukewarm on ASU. It is extremely, hot, dry and dusty in Phoenix and most people don't realize that. Also, They would prefer as many people as possible to take the Arizona bar.

If it's the case that they want people to be committed to Arizona in general and ASU in particular, they could start by making their admissions process appear efficient and timely.PolySuyGuy wrote:The only rumor I heard was that they don't want people who are lukewarm on ASU. Why would an OOS student want to come here if their first impression of the school is a long, opaque, uninformative admissions process, especially when every other school they've applied to appears to do it better?
And I too want to believe there is a logical reason for this delay, but I'm open to the idea that it isn't a very good reason.

Don't lose hope. They are still expecting decisions to go out for two more weeks. I had to wait over two months for my decision to be rendered. Enjoy your time while have you have it before school starts, then you turn into a hermit from what I've heard.

How'd you find this out? And by decisions, do you mean acceptances?tnjohns wrote:favrefire4 wrote:I'm starting to lose hope here...

164, 3.6 --- but, I had some pretty good recommendations-I am taking two classes at the Law School right now through Barrett Honors College...and my undergraduate thesis director is a tenured prof. at the law school so if I would have got the ding he would have had some choice words....favrefire4 wrote:More congratulations are in order!!! Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
I called about 10 days ago and Kathy told me that I should probably expect a response "within a week or so". Never heard. Called again this morning and she checked again. She says, "Based on where your application is in the review process, I would guess you'll hear by the end of the week". I'm losing hope though.... Especially with all these other email acceptances this week. I'm a 161 / 3.7 GPA with prior work experience and great LOR's. Was hoping they would help make up for a little lower LSAT.

For anyone that's been admitted: Could you post the time frame for the admitted student days? I believe it's Thursday and Friday, and I would need take some time off work, if I hear positive news in the next two days.

Kathy told me I should hear soon as well, but I have no hope at this point. 155/3.8 won't do
It.

No problem.
Thursday : 4 - 7
Friday : 8:30 - 3:30ish
I could break it down by event and what not. Let me know if you'd prefer that.

Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
I'd think you have a decent shot of getting in. Your LSAT is below median, but your GPA is above. Assuming you're an AZ resident? That will help, too.beedeejayman wrote:I'm a 161 / 3.7 GPA with prior work experience and great LOR's. Was hoping they would help make up for a little lower LSAT.
Relax.

EDIT: actually, I have no idea what the medians are. those are educated guesses as to what the median is. lol. You'd definitely have to be above their GPA median but I don't know what their LSAT median is. I'm thinking 162
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
