Sorry about the bitchy eye roll. I just thought it was a little unfair of you to criticize a school that some people in this thread really want to go to/already attend after prolonging a withdrawal. "Congrats" is pretty lame, but they did offer you a spot, so....congrats!
It’s cool. I’m not criticizing, just making an observation. Personally, I like it when schools write/say something that makes me feel like they actually read my shit, not just sent out mass acceptances. I also don’t think that I’m prolonging a withdrawal. I’ve spoken to many people who have told me not to withdraw from anywhere until the spring because it really won’t matter to anyone this early in the game and scholarship offers can be useful sometimes. I definitely don’t think anything bad of GW, though, or I wouldn’t have applied.

Anyone know when we might hear about money? Have people been getting scholarships with the admit letters or does that come later?

LSN shows zero people with scholarships and no one in this thread has gotten scholarship info so I don't think it has been released yet.

Not really the place for this, but I hope the crowd will be a little bit better/productive than those in the don't go to GW hate thread, but I spent 2 hrs talking to an alum about how much she loved it last week. I am pretty bummed, as 2 schools I really liked for locale and "strength" of program have been totally lambasted by angry alum's/current students.

I applied for early decision but was admitted today through regular decision (no full scholarship, non-binding) through the mail. Such a huge mood booster, especially on Christmas Eve!

How did you find out? Does this mean they deferred you and admitted you right away?

Congrats! Did you hear anything before the letter letting you know that you were being deferred from ED to RD?

Did anyone else (ED or RD) get a holiday card from GW before getting an acceptance letter? It's the first mail I've gotten from GW since submitting my application.

No, they didn't. I was actually a bit surprised while reading the letter. I think it was their technical way of accepting me early without having to give me a full scholarship. It's still fantastic news to receive on Christmas Eve, though!

i'm home on break right now and i didn't want to change my mailing address to my permanent address just for break because i didn't expect to hear back until i got back to school (we start again early cuz we're on the quarter system). now reading this thread i'm nervous that there's some letter waiting for me (whether it be an acceptance or a rejection) and it kills me not knowing.

i applied RD the first week of november and submitted an addendum the week after so my application complete date reads 11/10/2011 and hasn't changed since. has anyone else in a similar situation already heard back? i haven't heard back from any schools yet and i just wanna get this process started and out of the way!!

Deferred from ED, then accepted RD. Kind of relieved though. My cycle has gone better than I expected so far, and I was starting to think I might end up with some better options…

Did this come via snail mail also? I applied ED and am pretty sure I will end up deferred/WLed/Dinged but I haven't heard anything yet

Congrats! What state are you in? I applied ED as well, and I'm trying to gauge when I might receive the snail mail down here in LA.

Also, I just saw your numbers in your profile. I would have thought that you would be a shoe-in for ED. Oh well, maybe they'll give you a big scholarship anyway.

I got the holiday card, and I got the acceptance e-mail late last week. No letter yet though

I am staying at the State Plaza hotel for a night (right next to GWU) on my way to NYC for New Years. Any reasonably priced restaurants/bars I should check out?

I got my letter about a month ago but still no packet. Has anyone received one of these?

Accepted via email last week :) I've re-read the email every day since because I still can't believe I got in (2.89/170, applied mid-November).

I am waiting on ED. 169/3.3

Anyone accepted ED yet?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
