This makes no sense - The Residency Affidavit is optional. I'm in-state, but don't recall submitting one. Not cool.
Why wouldn't you submit one if you are in state? Do you WANT to pay more $$?

I received my acceptance packet today. It was very thoughtful, including a hand-written note from Mr. Motley himself. For those wondering, I was accepted two weeks ago. Best of luck all!

The LSAC page wouldn't open when I had attempted to download the affidavit and I wanted to submit as soon as possible. Figured it wouldn't be hard to handle later.

Not to be an asshole at all, but should i be annoyed that it seems like 30k is the minimum scholly they are giving out, and I got 15k as an IUB alum? On the list of life problems, this is obviously pretty low, but i feel kind of slighted.

I'm pretty sure this is too much of a hassle for me to do at this point. I don't own a scanner for starters. I'm withdrawing.

EDIT: I now understand your frustration, seeing the 2.xx receive the 30k would surely be frustrating for myself. Could this be attributed to other factors? Time of submission, softs, URM, academic rigor? I don't mean to add insult to injury here and I most certainly feel for you. Seeing other people get into places I've been waitlisted or rejected at and knowing their numbers and softs aren't up to par with mine is frustrating as well. Admissions process is strange. Give em' a call though and see if you could get that extra 15k; I'm rooting for you.

Are you in-state? You also have high stats so they could assume that you were applying to T-14s. Everything's negotiable until they tell you no.

Has anyone found Mr. Compton notoriously difficult to get in touch with? Like, does not respond to emails, does not return phone calls..... I am an admitted student with numbers WELL above the fringe line and this guy treats me like I was an auto-reject. Anyone else...?

It is true, he is tough to get a hold of. Persistence pays off always though.

He's always answered my emails within a day, if not hours. Could depend on what you're contacting him about I guess... Maybe I've just been lucky.

If my admissions packet said nothing about scholarships (and they sent me a pamphlet explaining
How to Pay for Law School) is it safe to infer I received no money ?
I am an Indiana resident 155/4.0+

That's probably safe. Up to this point, I believe they've always included the scholarship info in the admissions packet. You could try and negotiate some, as some other posters are trying to. Good luck.

So I emailed them last Thursday to ask why I was still only in review only to get an email today (Wednesday) about them needing a residency affadavit. >_> Right now I'm just so frustrated that I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should just withdraw... Congrats to all of you who have gotten in, though!

Clarion:
Same thing happened to me. I sent them the residency affidavit, went complete, and was admitted four days later. I think they realize how frustrating the process has been and will try to get to your application quickly once they get the affidavit.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
