not even final review.

My status was "Application Complete - In Review" on 3/7, but on 3/31 they updated the status date (to 3/31) with no corresponding change in the actual status. Did anyone else have this issue?

That happen to me once in January. I guess that just means that there was some activity on your file?

Same here. I get this suspicious feeling that they'll make the decision around, oh, April 16th. Ya know, the day after seat deposits are due most other places.

Haha...it seems that there are a lot of people pending since 2/7. Kent must do things in groupings. Any day now....

I was wondering if they do rounds of review. For example: let's say the admissions committee has three rounds of review. Those with numbers above the 75th percentile are automatically admitted in the first round. If your numbers are good, but not auto-admit material, then you go into a second round of review, where softs become a larger factor. If you still haven't been admitted/rejected you go into a subsequent review pool where even closer inspection of your file is undertaken. This process could theoretically go on ad infinitum depending on how precise with each level of review the adcom wanted to go. Overall, this is complete speculation and means nothing to us being admitted haha.
I suspect that a significant number of decisions will begin to come out as we get closer to and eventually pass the 4/15 initial deadline.

The torment admissions puts us through! I have thought about the whole process myself and came to a similar conclusion...lol
I think any day now from here until the 15th...they'll start dropping bombs.

Jessuf wrote:I just mailed off a LOCI even though I'm still "under review." Updated them on what I was doing work-wise and academically, talked more specifically about why their public interest program was right for me, all of the usual stuff.
They are my top choice, and though I applied full time, I wrote in my LOCI that I am willing to accept part-time. Has anyone ever heard of them offering someone a spot in part-time as opposed to straight up rejecting that person?
I emailed and subsequently called the admissions office about that very question. Here are their exact words: "In years past we did, but currently our part-time and fulltime divisions are equally competitive, so doing so would not increase your chances for admissions." This was in response to my question asking if I could be considered for the PT program if I wasn't admitted (or if I was waitlisted) for the FT program. Really, I don't see how this is the case given that the data on the ABA information page clearly shows that the PT applicant pool's numbers are not equal to the FT applicant pool's numbers.

Anyone know the ease of evening students being part of organizations on campus? Such as the multicultural ones for example - do they tend to meet midday/late afternoon, etc?

I sent my LOCI on 4/6, and I just received an email from the assistant director of admissions acknowledging my LOCI from last week. Which then prompted me to ck my status and it was in "final review". Eeeks the wait....
Do all the applicants go through a "final review"? Is this common Kent protocol. Review and then Final review?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
