I actually don't think I'll be hanging around on the waitlist. I'm pretty sold on FSU and I'm ready for my cycle to be over. No need for the uncertainty of waitlists hanging over me.cmraider wrote:I'm pretty adamant about getting off the WL, so look out jaymaynard, bless, clemson09 and EricBerry.

Nah I wasn't at UT for UG. But I am a huge vol fan and I spent a lot of time throughout UG in knoxville. FSU really just seems like a good fit for me and an awesome place to spend 3 years. GBOBigOrange23 wrote:EB...UT undergrad going to FSU? I'm thinking about doing the same.

I don't expect money but I might need it because I got a huge scholarship from DU. Who knows, I didn't expect to get in either so maybe I will actually get money.
UT killed DU in employment statistics for 2009, though. 72% employed at graduation? That is high for #56. UT also had good clerkship numbers, and a relatively high number reporting salary info in the private sector (63%).

I emailed them today. Seeing as it has been 5 months since I was accepted and I have all information from every other school, I am growing impatient.mrwarre85 wrote:Anyone had any luck getting scholarship money out of them?

Re: Tennessee 2011
I talked with Karen Hatcher over my spring break two weeks ago while visiting. I tried negotiating my 20k/year to Wake. Tennessee is my top choice as that is where I want to work after law school. There's been no movement yet. She said they're strung for money. But there is another round of scholarships coming out. They just had to finish with acceptances, waitlists, and denials. Hopefully something comes through for all of us. Also, hopefully people who for sure won't attend but are sitting on their scholarships withdraw.enida10 wrote:I did the same today. I would certainly not be happy if I get $0, but I am feeling insulted by the fact they won't even return my email.

They returned mine in less than a day. Of course it was chalk full of bad news..hmmhaa77 wrote:I would certainly not be happy if I get $0, but I am feeling insulted by the fact they won't even return my email.

Re: Tennessee 2011
Bad news y'all. I got this e-mail this morning:
We have currently extended all the scholarship offers we are in a position to make at this time. Our scholarship resources this year have not been what we would for them to be but we have tried to spread them out as far as possible. If we are in a position to make additional awards in the future we will consider those admitted applicants that are still in the pool.
I’m sure this is not the answer you were hoping to receive and I wish it were. However, I hope is of some help. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
So they are either telling me I won't be getting a scholarship with the excuse that there is no money or there really won't be any more scholarship offers.
Bummer.

Wow... They just lost the only thing that was drawing me to them. They gave money to a lot of people with lower numbers than me. I am not happy.

Tennessee seems to award money based on more factors than numbers.

Like what? URM?ran12 wrote:Tennessee seems to award money based on more factors than numbers.
Also I got pretty much the same response from them regarding scholarships. I think its legit. Lets just hope a few more people with money withdraw.
On another note, I may still attend and pay sticker. I have a full scholarship at DU but UTK's 2009 job numbers are about 243,245 times better. DU, ranked 77, only had 52% of its graduates working full time as lawyers nine months out, while UTK reported 86%. Not to mention UTK has a higher number reporting salaries and way better clerkship numbers.
