I'm rooting for you, Chris, we could use some more people from WA around here. Good luck!

Every time someone pushes this to the top of "view active posts" I think Dean Pless has posted that decisions are going out.
And now I'm doing it too!

Dean Pless,
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions. Firstly, is there a difference between being placed on hold for a second review and being waitlisted? If so, what is the difference? Secondly, how long would you say someone on average is held on the waitlist?
Thank you again.

Offered a spot on the waitlist.
Thanks for being so transparent, Dean Pless. It was nice being able to keep track of the process for at least one school.
Congrats to the class of 2014, you will all have a great time at UIUC I'm sure! Good luck to you all.

So should we gather a quick list of who all will be anxiously awaiting the next batch on 1/7 along with me? Sorry if this is too much of a derailing, let me know and I'll move it.

Email me directly and I can figure out where you are in the process. We don't have a different status, but I want to make sure that your file is correct.credence023 wrote:Dean Pless,

Re: Illinois Class of 2014 (With Dean Pless)
Just want to let you know that if you opt on to our Wait List it will take about a week for your status change to be reflected on the online status checker. The two systems aren't linked and it is a manual process.
Also, I am trying really hard not to post on any other threads so I will just throw this out here.
I don't yield protect. Ever.
This thread doesn't have to be the "How wonderful Illinois is" thread. Please feel free to ask me any question about Illinois or our process that you want. I won't hold it against you, promise.

Re: Illinois Class of 2014 (With Dean Pless)
Dean Pless,
I was wondering if you advise admitted students to only attend the specified Admitted Students Days or if visiting the school on their own can give them a similar experience.
I will be in the batch of decisions released (12/7), and if accepted (fingers crossed), I would like to visit within the next week. I'm from Illinois, but go to school out-of-state and for traveling purposes, it would easier for me to visit when I'm home on winter break.
Thanks for your help, and to add to the chorus, I really appreciate your transparency and open communication.

Re: Illinois Class of 2014 (With Dean Pless)
I called and asked the same question, and after speaking with someone on the admissions staff I decided to go up there myself. I'm going the end of January (hoping to see snow for the first time since I was 10!) and they give tours, you can sit in on a class, and *hopefully* meet with Dean Pless. I am purchasing my plane ticket tonight!laughsalot06 wrote:Dean Pless,
