Yo 1/22's! We all have four updates- how many of you are still waiting on a decision?

Is that 1/22 for complete? If so, I am...last updated 4/13 but I usually never check my status checkers so I don't know what other updates I had.

Man they're taking a long time...I really thought they just forgot about me or lost my app or something.

So, they're changing their deposit date to May 1st next year, right? Because this is just embarrassing for them. They should refund application fees; I know mine was pretty much worthless in the end.

Well the seat deposit was due 4/16 or one week after receiving your financial aid packet, whichever one is later. At this point it would be the latter.

OK just got my finaid. What's up with the, "please note that scholarship awards are given with the understanding that there is a moral obligation to repay the Law School if future financial circumstances permit repayment" bit? Because otherwise Cornell's offer looks competitive.

Complete 2/24 -->4/20. Sent a fourth LOR that arrived yesterday. Doubt they were related though.

I still think they're obligated to respond on admission before the 15th, even if they're not sure about aid. I applied the first week of December...It's really gonna take them near 5 months? That's ridiculous.

Yeah, that 4/13 update was your 4th. All of us from 1/22 had the same update dates, and several of those were waitlisted on tuesday. But apparently at least you and I are still waiting for a decision. We also have very similar numbers, so maybe it'll be an acceptance for both of us this tuesday! Of course it will be another few weeks for finaid at this rate...

This doesn't say much for our originality haha. I think for me it'll really come down to financial aid offers, and what I think about living in Ithaca. I kinda wanted to get out of a small sleepy town, ya know?

They are requesting that I be considerate of other applicants and give them a quick response. Sounds like they really want me, so sounds like there will be a place opening up for someone else soon when I turn them down. Rudest acceptance letter possible. I want a refund for them making me wait so long. These guys are thoroughly unprofessional.

So I just want to say that the admissions office is in no way a reflection upon the rest of the school. It seems like a lot of people have had issues with them. I didn't really have any issues other than complete radio silence for pretty much the entirety of my cycle.

But since I've been here, the way they scheduled the ASW has really weirded me out. We didn't get a heads up that 30 people or whatever would be in our civ pro class, they really don't foster any interaction with 1Ls outside of the student government people, and they've put out food right when a lot of us get out of class and then slap our hands when we try to get some (they could so easily wait 5 minutes and not have to rub it in our face). There was an evening event the last asw but hardly any OLs showed up and it really wasn't the best environment to socialize anyways (did they even encourage 0L's to attend that bar tab?). The other asw there was no event, that I know of.

I hope the 0L's that visited got to meet a good number of people, my friends and I just thought it was weird we didn't meet any (or really even see any, outside of civ pro).

So yeah professors etc. are easily accessible and everyone that you'll need to deal with once you're here is great so I hope you don't let the admissions office deter you if you have already been admitted.

seems like its the story of this thread so far.

whether its the weird cycle or some changes to the admissions team this year, Cornell admissions has been pretty damn lousy.

The financial aid office isn't much better. I've been waiting for close to two months now and when I called a few days ago and asked whatsup, they said to wait another week or so and then to give a call if I haven't received it yet. Gtfo

Just got in..I am actually considering attending. Ithaca may not be the place I want to be for 3 years but I do want to end up practicing in NY

So I just want to say that the admissions office is in no way a reflection upon the rest of the school. It seems like a lot of people have had issues with them. I didn't really have any issues other than complete radio silence for pretty much the entirety of my cycle.
