Now I'm worried. Again. I should really stop paying attention to TLS.luxxe wrote:Just put on reserve.

eh, I think we had acceptances and reserves yesterday, so you shouldn't think that you are definitely going to be reservednine-and-fifty wrote:Now I'm worried. Again. I should really stop paying attention to TLS.luxxe wrote:Just put on reserve.

How generous is Columbia with merit and need-based aid? If we get accepted after being placed on hold, do you think there is any real chance of getting scholarship money?

They are notoriously stingy.Geneva wrote:How generous is Columbia with merit and need-based aid? If we get accepted after being placed on hold, do you think there is any real chance of getting scholarship money?

I think it's just that schools are being weird about internationals. Look at madvillain's cycle, it's crazyMr. Somebody wrote:YPpoultry wrote:If your stat is not fake then they are insane.

Maybe, but I thought you weren't really an international if youve got an LSAC GPA.....
If there's ever any reason for CLS to YP someone its someone with a 175/4.0.....

It seems to me like it must be YP. Those stats are certainly not fake, and it's actually above a 4.0 on LSAC's 4.3 scale. So really, yea, I am a little shocked....

Is Columbia willing to expedite decisions in order to accommodate scholarship deadlines? I apologize if this was already addressed here.

I told them about a scholarship deadline & they got back to me in less than a week, but that could just be because it is so late.Fortuitous wrote:Is Columbia willing to expedite decisions in order to accommodate scholarship deadlines? I apologize if this was already addressed here.

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
read the LSAC rules about this. Schools aren't allowed to force you to withdraw from other schools that you haven't heard from because of a deadline of any kind. The only thing that you should be able to lose because of a deadline is a seat deposit.luxxe wrote:I told them about a scholarship deadline & they got back to me in less than a week, but that could just be because it is so late.Fortuitous wrote:Is Columbia willing to expedite decisions in order to accommodate scholarship deadlines? Oh I know, I just really didn't want to lose $400 on a non-refundable seat deposit to a school I wasn't going to. Luckily.... the two schools I was waiting on waitlisted me within 24 hours of me mailing in that seat deposit.JamMasterJ wrote:read the LSAC rules about this. Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Is it unreasonable to email Columbia about my deadline without specifying that I don't want to lose the deposit? I don't want to play a chicken game, but to let them know that I would really appreciate a decision before April 15 if at all possible. Did other people with deadlines inform CLS of the competing school's identity?

i did the same thing and they answer while they understand my reasoning they will try there best to get me my answer by april 24th (the original deadline in the email). They can not expedite the process.

For everyone who received the updated held email and already submitted loci:
Did you guys respond to the email at all? I already sent in a loci but still feel like I should respond to show interest. What is the consensus, no action?
