Like, I went under review on 1/18 and got DLS on 1/21. I'm 3.9/170 so I'm assuming it's a big fat ding. FWIW, the admitted students login thinger isn't working for me.
Is it a possible outcome that the letter is waitlist? Or would the status checker actually have the balls to tell me I'd been waitlisted? I dislike this "you know a decision has been made but are at the mercy of USPS to find out what it is" thing.
i submitted 12/23, complete 1/4, ur 1/7, dls 1/18, 3.9/171
i have yet to receive the letter but i can log on to the ASW so i assume im in
I think NYU got smart to people that were 1/18 logging in and they didn't like that - because if applicants can find out online, then they might as well just do email or even status checker notifications of decisions. They WANT people to wait for the letter because they probably feel that people receiving letters over email have a higher chance of liking the school based on some type of believed psychology (like believing its more personal?). So maybe they decided to not log anyone in until one week after "decision letter sent" to be safe. loll this is all speculation for the optimists.
But the thing about a 1/18er who could log in and now not being able to log in anymore is seriously strange to me.

I think this is what is happening too. Can any 1/18-ers log in still?glitched wrote:shoop wrote:Did you try the ASW thing ASAP after you got DLS? STOP FREAKING OUT DOODE. YOU'RE FREAKING ME OUT. SYSTEMS CRASH SOMETIMES. haha
The decision letter is sent, they can't intercept the mail carrier so we will know for sure soon. And even if it ends up being a bad letter, at least we all shared this week of pure joy and relaxation.

I agree with glitched. Regardless of what happens in a few days when the USPS delivers the mail, at least we all shared this moment of anxiety together.. and I rather like the company on TLS

The good news is that this type of neuroses will fit in perfectly at NYU.Spykuh wrote:

Last week of October here, and I'm reasonably sure it means WL/ding for me, but really who knows.PuckCU06 wrote:Anyone else go Under Review the first week of November and still hear nothing???

I don't know you..... but, I <3 you..... and, kinda feel like I accomplished something, earning the appearance of precedent cat.
Sidenote re: precedent cat... I teach 8th grade government and used precedent cat to illustrate the word "precedent" when explaining Marbury v. Madison. Whoever is responsible, consider this my attempt at a bibliography...

My App is still being processed since 1/6. Is this something they do on purpose? How long is average wait to go UR?

Precedent Cat is all things lovely and good. Since the LOLCAT joy moved to the Columbia thread, I haven't had many opportunities to use him of late. This saddens me.starrydreamz3 wrote:I created Precedent Cat, and I love you for using him for good.PuckCU06 wrote:Sidenote re: precedent cat... I think I may have broken the Admitted Students checker.
