Yeah, that's why I am considering retaking in June. It's my LSAT that is bringing me down anyways.floppymex wrote:Really sorry for those that were rejected today. I am feeling down on the dumps too, got a WL with DR today. Thus far I am having a tough cycle (Deferred Cornell, WL G'Town, Rejected Texas). I'm stilling waiting to hear from 15 other schools, including an ED at a Top12, but this latest G'Town development is now making me feel gloomy.
URM
LSAT 170-174
UGPA 2.75-3.00 (several years removed from UG)
As a splitter, I am wondering why someone previously said re-taking in June will likely be too late. That's plenty of time to study for the test again, and try to gain that extra tier of points to make up for a vastly subpar GPA. The WL e-mails indicate that you may hear through summer, up until the first day of school. From previous years, it seems like this could well be a possibility and for many people (like it's looking for me) it may mean the diff. b/w a top 40 program vs. a top 14.
Thoughts?

I can believe you got WL at GTown. You're going to get in somewhere with those numbers plus URM. And somewhere good I'd imagine.floppymex wrote:Really sorry for those that were rejected today. WL, DR today. 168/3.7, good softs RD Both. Does anybody know exactly how the WL works for somebody who is waitlisted at both? Or how the regular vs preferred WL's work?

I'm thinking I'm gonna get WL'd.
169 3.85 but I don't think my interview went well, and my cycle hasn't been going that well so far (only non auto-admit acceptance has been Duke, and that was through PT where they take everybody); no decisions from any other schools that have medians at or above my #s.

166, 3.87 non-urm +nice softs going for FT
I can dream right?
My hope is if I can make it onto the waitlist, I can use the Feb. LSAT to get off it, My PT's are around 170, and I was sick on test day. Does anyone know if that strategy works? Using the Feb. LSAT to get off a waitlist?

There's a new ED timeline this year. From the website:Cupidity wrote:RD because I didn't have my stuff together in time.Delinquent wrote:ED/RD?Cupidity wrote:166, 3.87 non-urm +nice softs going for FT

The Early Decision process is a binding early notification process. If you choose to apply via Early Decision, if your application is complete with all required documents by March 1, your decision will be mailed within 3 weeks of your complete date.
You can still apply ED

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
My sympathy to everyone who was WLed or rejected today.
I am just wondering if anyone who was placed on the Priority Waiting List had this sentence included in their e-mail about it:
"The Committee has designated you as part of a small select group within the Preferred Waiting List that will be given priority as spaces open up in the entering class."
My reading of this is that it means I am on a Priority Priority Waiting List (double secret probation, anyone?), but that could just be egotism. However, it seems like a strange way of writing it, if that is not what it means.

No, a handful of people got that and some others just got "priority". And then some got regular WL. And then NayBoer got a big fuck you card, which surprised me.App925 wrote:+1Oberlion wrote:My sympathy to everyone who was WLed or rejected today.

That graph on LSN's getting to be pretty statistically sound, I gotta say. Good thing they "don't use hard numerical cutoffs".

The fact that the admissions committee didn't take one look at my app and put me in the "accept" pile is worrisome. Still UR 12/10.

Went DR today and got put on WL
Unfortunate I'll carry on. It just means a few more applications will need to go out.
LSAT 169
UGPA 3.35
Gratz to all who've gotten in and good luck to my fellow WL'ers and all those still waiting
