Other factors COULD lead them to shrink size, but it won't be this year's rankings. Not to mention the fact that IIRC schools generally announce a class size change before the beginning of the cycle, not during.DiniMae wrote:Does anyone think the new rankings next week will determine their # of admits (versus accept off a wait list)? It just seems like there is a long way to go on JS2s so late in the cycle.
Sorry, just realized I misunderstood your question. I think you're talking about H admitting off WL rather than straight admit b/c of ranking's effect on yield. While I suspect they won't let the rankings affect yield calculation, I don't have any evidence for that. This is a good question for Mike/Karen in the ask an adcom thread.

so - was there a js2 wave today? I think it's been so long since our last wave, that if there was acceptances, more than 1 would have shown up on LSN... my gut is saying (or maybe also hoping) that it was just a mistake on LSN from an acceptance in the earlier waves.

Seems like it was a ding wave, not a js2 wave.qwertyTLS wrote:so - was there a js2 wave today? but no, i think the general consensus is no js2 wave in addition to the ding wave. our guess is the js2 from LSN just reported late.

Yeah, I figure this morning's acceptance was probably an anomaly and not part of a wave. I think we'll see a significant JS2 wave sometime this week, maybe even tomorrow.qwertyTLS wrote:sry, I meant js2 wave in addition to the js2 wave (some discussion about an acceptance reported on LSN in the morning)mujiali wrote:Seems like it was a ding wave, not a js2 wave.qwertyTLS wrote:so - was there a js2 wave today? Sorry about the dings. Could we get completion dates, and not just JS1 dates for those of us who have yet to receive a JS1?

Really sucks to see so many rejections. Do we usually see rejection and acceptance waves come around the same time? I think some people had said their interviewers suggested they'd hear back early march, so this week makes sense, but I'm wondering if waves like the one today have been signs of more decisions to come at other times this cycle.

Still no JR1, submitted early october... Not really expecting to get in Med <LSAT>25 and GPA<25 but it would certainly be nice of they would make a decision... Or at least open my application.

Based on wild speculation and mylsn.info it did look like in past cycles it went rejection acceptance waitlist. Not sure what the changes in this cycle connote or if I'm deriving a pattern from tea leaves but such is applying for law school.DK21 wrote:Really sucks to see so many rejections. Below is a graph of applicant movement by month, comparing last cycle to this one (using info from the threads). Movement defined as JS1, JS2, Rejection, and WL.
Now, we know the cycle is different, but it is exciting/scary to see how much is in store for March (I say scary because a lot of the movement in March were WL and rejection waves at the end of the month)... Also my monopoly money is on today.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Another ding posted on LSN just now w/ decision date of today 3/3, but it was posted at the same time as another decision on poster's profile (decision-dated 2/10). I think it was probably from yesterday's wave, or at least hope so. Don't wanna see another ding wave today, and I think 9:30 EST is a bit early for decisions, right?pylon wrote:Below is a graph of applicant movement by month, comparing last cycle to this one (using info from the threads).
