Honestly, can't figure out what happened. I really thought the interview went well, felt just like the uva one and got a full ride w stipend offer the next day. Maybe I didn't sell that I wanted to go to H badly enough. Who knows?

From the hold email:
Please be assured that our evaluation process has not concluded. Your application will be reviewed again once a larger portion of our applicant pool has been evaluated. Each year many applicants whose applications have been held during our admission cycle end up admitted to the Law School.
GAH. What does "many" mean? Any data on this? My friend and I were arguing about it - her position is that "many" sounds positive. I, however, argued that "many" could be like, FIVE. Help? Thoughts?

Im sure the 157 hurt as well, but it was from 2008 and I got a kb1 just a week or two after going complete. I also addressed the 157 in the interview, but that probably didnt matter.

--LinkRemoved-- - The post itself is much more positive in tone than the e-mail. I think that the number of once-held admitted students is not going to be five but more like in the low dozens. Still, this is something that is no longer in your hands. Just be happy you didn't get dinged, and send updates when they're important.Every year a significant portion of our admitted 1Ls will have received a hold notice at some point in the admissions process. In other words, being on hold is a positive, not a negative – it means you are still in the running.

Pretty decent, yeah, but evaluating things before I applied, they seemed like the only strong part of my application. Weak softs, didn't read my LORs obviously but I didn't know the profs very well, etc. Was hoping my numbers would get me a JS1 but beyond that I knew it was uphill. Good luck to everyone still waiting.Cicero76 wrote:Why totally expected? Your numbers are good.MCFC wrote:Held today. JS 1 2 weeks ago. Entirely expected.

I interviewed what seems like years ago, in early November. I therefore claim the title of Vice President of the JS1-no-JS2 club, or Marooned 1. Whichever you prefer. Of course, Lavitz is the Prez...
I do, however, think that they are boosting the number of interviewees this year, so getting a JS1 isn't QUITE the formality that it once was.

Yeeeeah, I was hoping for a hold or wait list, so that I could've wooed them with a national fellowship or scholarship. Alas it was not meant to be. It's all good. I'll make my way to Berkeley. Good luck everyone!digifly wrote:Sorry to see thatssanonymous wrote:Rejected. 3:22 EST. My numbers are too long to be of any help to y'all. Early Nov complete. I sent them a mini-update a few weeks ago describing some changes at my job and a few other things. Might have saved me from a ding, but what do I do now??? I was thinking I'd go out and get another job or internship haha.ssanonymous wrote:Yeeeeah, I was hoping for a hold or wait list, so that I could've wooed them with a national fellowship or scholarship. I'm not reading too much into surviving today's bloodbath, because I haven't heard anything and my numbers are borderline ding/auto WL.

of COURSE she was Anna Paquin!Wormfather wrote:@Twinkletoes
I dreamed you got into Harvard last night, you were Anna Paquin of course. We were in the same section and despite getting into Harvard your remained neurotic. You were paranoid that the other guys in the section were talking about you during orientation. The dream ended when I pointed to my wedding ring and said "This means I only have to deal with one crazy woman". (It was in good jest, I promise, my unconcious psyche isnt mean).
Still, FWIW, you getting into Harvard will now be my dream come true!

Hahahaha YES. Not sure what it says about your psyche for dreaming about an Internet friend and not sure what it says about mine that my neuroticism comes across so clearly on the Internet AND dream world, but I am flattered. Maybe ill draft this in a LOCI.
