Amputatedbrain, why did you withdraw from the schools that waitlisted you? Is it because you have another school you'd prefer to attend over said schools? Just wonderin'. Good luck! Your numbers are solid.

Still EAC 11/05. When should I call? Tuesday? Anyone know if they'll be open on Wed?

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait until Wednesday to call.

Because I'm content enough with the admissions I have (UCLA) that I'm just not going to do LOCI's or anything like that . . . given that I'm not going to make a serious go of it I decided to open the slots for those who really are in it to the bitter end . . .it was a real reach to begin with, so it doesn't really bother me

you have a solid LSAT score, I'm sure you can end up with a higher T14, if you haven't already. Cornell just hates splitters. Good luck to the rest of your apps.

Cornell will give splitters a chance with good softs. But I have mediocre softs at best, and my academic history shows no improvement. I was 2.8 +/- .3 in every single semester. Granted it was in engineering, but they don't seem to care about that.
My real hope is Northwestern. They seem to be the only T14 who reliably will take a sub 3.0 candidate.

I thought Penn would do, as long as you show enough love

. I have no softs at all, and no GPA(int'l applicant here). I'm afraid my lack of softs seems to make this whole thing hard for me.

I just called and told them I was DR and if they could tell me, and the lady was nice and told me I got dinged. I would call like right now because the girl working is very nice and didn't mind looking it up for me at all. I was already into my ED school so I figured what the hell, I just checked my status checker this morning. I went DR what looks like late last weeks sometime, pre that I was EAC 11/13, one less school to withdraw from,

Ouch, sorry. Guess this means the end of my app as well. I'm still EAC 11/5. Was kind of a long shot anyway.

I wouldn't say that. Look at Cornell's LSN graph from last year. 176 opposed to 172 doesn't mean shit for numbers, and neither does our slight GPA difference. I think Cornell uses a holistic process for splitters. My app there was hurried (to meet the EA deadline, which I failed to do anyway, but they didn't mind).

I wonder what they'll do with me. I don't think I'll be deferred, just rejected or accepted. They do have a really tough time getting URMs to commit to Ithaca. hmm...

I'm too busy to check but I think some of the splitters Cornell did take were Ivy grads. That bodes well for you.

Ha probably not. But being URM should mean an acceptance.

Maybe. I'll concede that the small T14s do get pretty choosy about their admits.
But I'm not sure I have especially great softs, or that I emphasized the parts of me that are interesting. My app package everywhere is pretty WE-focused in compensation for an offensive GPA and to show I could excel. I'm pretty sure it's a rejection.
