I think I would have really missed out if I hadn't gone. If you're on the fence, if they are giving you a travel stipend then update your playlist and go on a road trip to visit. Plus, what better way to show you're actually interested and they should invest more money into your scholarship than to visit? And no, everyone is accepted and offered $$$, if any, separately. 2+ weeks between is the norm.

Anyone know a cheap hotel I could stay at which is decently close to WUSTL for ASD?

Ah I asked about travel stipends but they told me there weren't any available :/ I do agree though, it absolutely shows interest. I just don't know what to do!paulinams wrote:I sent an e-mail after the March 7th ASW and they said they'll add my info to my file and reconsider once more money opens up. Luckily, I get to use the girlfriend's Marriott points and stay for free, but in the past I've used Priceline. Go to priceline.com, click on Express Deals and put in the date and city. Then to your right adjust location to Forest Park-Clayton. Part of the compromise for the cheap room is that you don't see exactly which hotel you're staying at but you can pick them by star level. For instance, right now they have a 3-star hotel in the area around WUSTL for $57. Or you can do it the old fashion "priceline" way and bid, and certainly get some great deals that way as well. The website is great.couchpizza wrote:Anyone know a cheap hotel I could stay at which is decently close to WUSTL for ASD?
P.S. I do not work for or have any affiliation with Priceline, I've just used the service many times in the past and have always been satisfied.

That's good to hear. I'm about 75% sure that WUSTL will be my choice. This reminds me of my UG...half of the days I'm on campus I'll eat for free. I wonder how many times I've been "interested" in studying abroad the last 4 years?sublime wrote:johnnyquest wrote:As a white male, would it be obvious that I am only attending for the free breakfast?BlackCanary wrote:Anyone going to the diversity and inclusion breakfast thing?
You would probably be ok going. Honestly. The group putting it on is good peoples. I would especially recommend anyone who has actual interest to attend.
And 90% of the events anyone go to are for free lunch or alcohol, you get used to it

I'm sure that this has already been asked ITT, but I was a little late to the game. Is there an official/unofficial facebook group for admitted students?

ASW sounds like a lot of fun, I'd totally go if it weren't a 20 hour drive. I guess there's always Southwest flights...

This may have already been answered, but I was wondering if any waitlisted applicants have already gotten accepted off the waitlist this cycle?
WUSTL is undoubtedly my top choice and I'm hoping and praying that I can make it off the WL!! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted
It's a fantastic school!

I would raise a glass to that (if it wasn't a weekday)
