Is the purple envelope worth the wait?
I wrote an extra essay for a named scholarship. Do you think they will even admit me if they don't intend to send me the invite for the scholarship?

Not sure which one you applied for. The one I applied for was offered to a microscopic number of people last year, from what I understand, of whom an even more microscopic number accepted. I don't think they're going to decline your general application if you're not up for the scholarship program.r6_philly wrote:I wrote an extra essay for a named scholarship. Is that bad news??
I really hope NYU gives good things. 3.74/177. This is my first decision of the cycle.. I'm so nervous now!!!

It can't possibly be bad news. Your numbers are way too good for a ding, and WLs don't come out until April.Ship87 wrote:DLS sent 1/21.. can't seem to log into the ASW link given earlier

Can mine time travel forward to when it says DLS? Then it can time travel backward to show today's day.eskimo wrote:Yes. Status checkers time travel both to the future and the past.reversejinx wrote:Does NYU do this, updating with tomorrow's date?Ship87 wrote:DLS sent 1/21..

Mine too. That is weird. Uhm, I'm really fucking nervous considering my numbers are super fucking low. I guess I'll let you know in a few days whether good news or bad.Ship87 wrote:I just checked again to make sure I didn't write it as a typo and it does in fact say DLS 1/21.. hmm weird
I'm going to be mad if I have to wait until Monday because it gets caught in the mail on Sunday. Grr...

Hey guys,
I'm a DLS 1/21, too. My numbers are no where near the NYU range. I think this batch iswaitlist or rejections. =(

I wouldn't worry about it. My numbers are firmly waitlist/reject range and I'm still at 11/15....

Not to be completely psycho or anything, but I pulled Decisions for last year's cycle. It doesn't bode well for DLS Friday 1/21 (which was a Friday 1/22 last year.)

Oh stop. If we get rejected, we get rejected. Will it suck? Yes. Will it be upsetting? Yes. Will I wallow all weekend? Yes. Will life go on? Yes.
Anyway, so here's the thing:
Your numbers aren't the same as the first two highlighted. They're similar to the second two, but who says that other than your numbers you look nothing like those people? What if they had typos all over their applications? There are a lot of what if's in this whole process. Don't count yourself out, until you're out.

On the inside, I'm freaking out. I'm just yelling at myself to chill the fuck out. I will make a trip to the bar if need be. But, for now, the fact that I know I'm going to know one way or other is helping. Also, having somewhere I really want to go. Also, Boy Meets World. 'Nuff said.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
