One last visit to this thread to mention that I'll be withdrawing very soon. Good luck!

thank you for the withdrawing! an admirable behavior! I am under review and hope georgetown would not destroy my Christmas with a rejection. If so, can I seek for some presents from Santa?managamy wrote:One last visit to this thread to mention that I'll be withdrawing very soon. Good luck!

Hi All,
I'm new to TLS. IF GT renders all ED decisions today...does that mean no one hears until snail mail arrives? Is anyone ED with strong numbers still awaiting DR?

Has anyone DR 12/14 received a ding e-mail yet? I'm assuming no, but just thought I'd check.
Trying to stay positive over here... good luck to all

If you applied RD to both and then all of a sudden it just says Part-Time, does that mean you got rejected by FT? it hasn't happened to me but I'm trying to figure out if that's a good sign or a bad sign because it's happened to other RD Both-ers who have gone complete around when I did.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I called the school and tried to get some sort of clue as to when letters and/or e-mails would be sent out for ED people who went DR yesterday/today and I was told it would typically be 5 days from DR notification, which seems to be consistent with people's reported experience. The expectation was that 12/14' DR's would be postmarked yesterday or today. I asked if rejection e-mails would be held to try to time notification along with snail mail acceptances or if they would be sent out early in light of the fact that ED ends today, and I was given a very vague answer about how the way they do things in the future may change as we get later into the admissions cycle. The impression that I got from this response, based on her tone of voice, was that she wasn't too happy about the fact that people had realized that e-mail = reject and letter = admit, but that was just an impression.jdhopeful23 wrote:Has anyone DR 12/14 received a ding e-mail yet? So, basically, the only helpful thing I got out of the call was confirmation of a 12/14 or 12/15 postmark for 12/14 DR's.
Good luck everyone.

it looks like there's no definitive answer, right? why do "whybother"'s posts keep getting deleted on that thread?Delinquent wrote:there's this thread:imisscollege wrote:If you applied RD to both and then all of a sudden it just says Part-Time, does that mean you got rejected by FT? it hasn't happened to me but I'm trying to figure out if that's a good sign or a bad sign because it's happened to other RD Both-ers who have gone complete around when I did.

FWIW my handwritten note came from the Asst. Dean who came for a "group interview" in Chapel Hill that wasn't much of an interview at all. Said it was nice to meet me, etc. Not sure if he actually remembers me at all but it was a nice touch.

Maybe I read the thread wrong but it seems like having it change to PT DOES mean FT rejection.imisscollege wrote:it looks like there's no definitive answer, right? why do "whybother"'s posts keep getting deleted on that thread?Delinquent wrote:there's this thread:imisscollege wrote:If you applied RD to both and then all of a sudden it just says Part-Time, does that mean you got rejected by FT? it hasn't happened to me but I'm trying to figure out if that's a good sign or a bad sign because it's happened to other RD Both-ers who have gone complete around when I did.

Does this also mean rejections from PT & FT for Both-ers who stay "Both" after DR? [wow. that was poorly articulated...i hope you get what i'm trying to say.]

I kind of feel like no one really knows. I emailed the deans office, so I'll let you know if I find out.

I feel like I got gut-punched and I haven't even gotten the decision yet. Oof.
Edit - Also, for the benefit of the person who's trying to divine the status checker, mine has this thing:
Current Status: Application Completed
Current Status Date: 12/15/2009
Decision Status: Decision Rendered
Decision Status Date: 12/15/2009

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
It looks like the last couple weeks they sent acceptances Mon and Wed and mostly rejections on Tue. This held true for Dec 7-9 and Nov 30-Dec 2. There are some stray people on LSN on the wrong day, but it looks like most of them did the day of receipt instead of DR (some of note different DR days in their commentaries).
Feels like DR today is bad. But I'm hoping they abandoned the batch system.

Alas, there is no divining the status checker. I had a hunch, but it was based on previously reported data that was incomplete.NayBoer wrote:I feel like I got gut-punched and I haven't even gotten the decision yet. Oof.

The only solace there is to be found is that by this time next week, all ED applicants will know their results.
