The fastest turnaround I've seen was around 10 days. You can certainly call them Monday and ask them for specifics on when they need to receive the check and whether you can wait for your aid package before making a decision, but I'm not sure if you'll have any luck.
I don't think they're used to negotiating large scholarships from other T-14s off Reserve. They usually just cycle through people until they get enough people willing to pay sticker to enroll.
Columbia does this too, where they give you a 48-hour window to commit. People usually don't get FA info in time. But at least they offer the possibility of getting your aid package in time if you fax them all the documents immediately.

off reserve list on the 18th - fin aid package rec. on the 26th. what appears to be the standard 5k for reserve list people. went to visit Cornell, left my $900 deposit so I did have two deposits down - didn't want to get the "offer rescinded" email as a prior poster shared and Cornell did not give a date for deposit due just the ASAP. B.C. saw the double deposit and called me (the double deposit didn't seem to bother them) - then they increased my scholarship - I will withdraw from B.C. on Monday. Absolutely send Cornell your offer from Georgetown(?) then call them - I have found the people at Cornell to be very honest and helpful though that doesn't result in $$$. I think the fin. aid processing is quicker now as they are only dealing with a handful of people. Just curious as to why you are considering Cornell over your other offer that looks pretty good.

Well, that's because Cornell has been my dream school since I was in high school. When I was applying for undergrad, I ended up not sending an application to Cornell, since I thought that my family would not be able to pay for it. As they were when I was younger, financial considerations are again preventing me from attending my dream school. But I know that I'm a grown-up now (surprisingly), so I have to make a rational choice. Sad to be an adult, as my mom always told me.question7 wrote:off reserve list on the 18th - fin aid package rec. on the 26th. what appears to be the standard 5k for reserve list people. went to visit Cornell, left my $900 deposit so I did have two deposits down - didn't want to get the "offer rescinded" email as a prior poster shared and Cornell did not give a date for deposit due just the ASAP. As to the double deposit issue, may I ask you if you got the call from BC when you turned in your "confirmation of intent to enroll?" Or did you get the call after you submitted your deposit?

after the deposit... Cornell is crazy expensive - ya, this "grown-up" thing seems to come out of nowhere and smack you in the face. Hoping Cornell will give you something more than the 5K since you have a good package to a T14 already - good luck!

So there's hope. How long did it take for you to get your aid notice after you sent them your financial information?Rlabo wrote:got fin aid email today for 37.5k!

They had everything around mid-last week. Also I had a scholly from Gtown that was the same amount so I'm assuming that this was more of match.tlsshin wrote:So there's hope. And good luck to tlsshin in that case. It would be nice to have a classmate for whom Cornell was truly their dream school.

That's really nice! I have a scholarship offer from Georgetown as well, so your story does encourage me to keep my hope. So... may I ask you if you made a decision as to where to attend?!Rlabo wrote:They had everything around mid-last week. Haven't made a final decision yet, but I'm leaning heavily towards Cornell, especially given even money situation. Just want to speak to a few more people and get a little more insight/advice b4 I take the plungetlsshin wrote:That's really nice! Who here is still on the 6/3 update? Sadly I think this means we may be moving onto the waitlist soon...

I'm still at 5/13... just sent in my new LSAT score and asked when I'd get a decision.
ETA: They didn't mention a decision date in their email response (they just told me my new score is in my file), so I called; the only thing the person who picked up could tell me was "soon".

I'm on the 4/30 update...the date I was reserved. I'm hoping they just haven't gotten to my file yet, as I was told each reserve file would be reread thoroughly before a decision is made. Or who knows perhaps I'm just screwed.

Me too! I wonder what's going on. I called them but they didn't reveal too much info. Just hoping for the best!jdmonkey wrote:I'm on the 4/30 update...the date I was reserved. I am still stuck on 2/15 lol, also the day I was placed on reserve. Almost wish they'd just let us know already one way or the other so we can move on with our current choices if we don't get in (which I don't think I will as I scored lower on the LSAT I just took than my first one).jdmonkey wrote:I'm on the 4/30 update...the date I was reserved. Aah don't worry, I think they just look at your highest LSAT so it shouldn't hurt your chances too much.gatorfan163287 wrote:I am still stuck on 2/15 lol, also the day I was placed on reserve.
