DLS finally. I don't know what time but I assume it was over the weekend. Regardless of waitlist or ding, cycle is over and I'm a happy girl!

Does anyone know if Stanford's wait list sees movement, or is it a lost cause?

I don't know, but I do know that that list must be 600 deep based of how many TLSer have gotten an offer on it.switchis32 wrote:Does anyone know if Stanford's wait list sees movement, or is it a lost cause?

I often wonder if there is a bit more of a sampling bias on TLS than we think. It seems to make sense that higher scorers would tend to be more active and thus would seek out forums.wert3813 wrote:I don't know, but I do know that that list must be 600 deep based of how many TLSer have gotten an offer on it.switchis32 wrote:Does anyone know if Stanford's wait list sees movement, or is it a lost cause?
Someone who is good at crunching LSN numbers could probably prove this definitively one way or the other, but that person is not me.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
LSN applicants usually account for ~11% of the total applicant pool and ~16% of the total admit pool, so yes, there is bias.cwid1391 wrote:I often wonder if there is a bit more of a sampling bias on TLS than we think. Based on that information, and accounting for the definite sample bias, the current size of the waitlist would be between 268 and 390 people.

Folks on LSN definitely don't represent the entire applicant pool. The graph below shows how many times more applicants there are on LSN with a given LSAT score relative to what one would expect if LSN were representative.cwid1391 wrote:I often wonder if there is a bit more of a sampling bias on TLS than we think. Right but no reason TLS/LSN should have a higher sampling of WL than admits.cwid1391 wrote:I often wonder if there is a bit more of a sampling bias on TLS than we think. Or a lower sample of WL than applicants.wert3813 wrote:Right but no reason TLS/LSN should have a higher sampling of WL than admits.cwid1391 wrote:I often wonder if there is a bit more of a sampling bias on TLS than we think.
