Sitting at UR1 since 2/7 and wrote the "team" essay instead of "Why Penn," so trying to add it in now. Thanks!

You shouldn't send it unless waitlisted.
Thank you. Any further clarification why I should wait? I thought I saw some people ITT sending out Why Penn's mid-review.
Because they are inundated with material. Honestly, I don't know how much weight it can have if it's sent mid-review as a "Oh, hey, there's also this!" I didn't do a Why Penn, so maybe someone who sent it can say, but based on exp at other schools, I have heard that they already have a lot to go by. I just feel like it's more likely that that will not get the attention it could get.

If this cycle were a book, it would be "One Hundred Years of Solitude"

Was obviously super bummed to get dinged but even more upset when my friend told me he's waitlisted.
Him: 156/3.8
Me: 164/3.8
What's that about? I knew me getting in was a stretch but how did he get waitlisted?

Definitely not a URM... I looked into it and I'm going to appeal. Chances of success are negligible but what do I have to lose?

You can send in a letter and updated materials ie: improved LSAT score, GPA, work promotion, volunteer hours etc. and they will decide to possibly reevaluate your application around the same time they go over waitlist. Like I said, the chance of getting in on appeal is so marginal it's ridiculous. But if you really want to go to a school, why not try?

Has there been a difference in days before decision if you are accepted, rejected, or wait listed?

Went UR1 2/7 --> UR2 3/11 sometime this afternoon.

As a side note, I sent in a "Why Penn" essay this morning to add to my file, they emailed me back acknowledging it a few hours later, and then some time after that the status changed. Not sure if coincidence or related, but figured I'd share.
