well this kills my chronological theory. I guess NU just doesn't love us as much as it loves you. this would have made my cycle but oh well. congrats!untar614 wrote:Holy shit, I got the 150k too. 3.78/172; submitted the scholarship app like a day before it was due.
Apparently its called the John Henry Wigmore scholarship - has anyone heard of that before? Is it a new thing?

:/ sorry. and thanks. I know this probably isn't helping, but I thought my essays kinda sucked. Granted, that could largely just be me being over-critical of my own writing, but idk.twinkletoes16 wrote:jbagelboy wrote:well this kills my chronological theory. same. i feel like i'm getting worked over big-time this cycle. can't catch a damn break!![]()
I saw that, too. I can't imagine I won't end up at Northwestern, but I did look into this. I can't find anything on NU's website that states you need to withdraw your other applications to accept the scholarship. You will, however, need to pay the nonrefundable $750 deposit. If you get accepted to Columbia after that it is up to you whether you're willing to eat the $750 deposit at NU to attend CLS instead.sokomofo wrote:just got offered $150,000! so unexpected.
the deadline to accept the award is april 12th, but i wont hear back from columbia til then
Just do NU bro. This is easy stuff.sokomofo wrote:just got offered $150,000! so unexpected.

Perhaps NU thought this was the sweet spot of people who probably can be convinced to come to NU over higher ranked schools with money.BigZuck wrote:Anyone else intrigued as to why all the people that got 150K are in such a narrow range of numbers? I don't mean that they aren't desrtving, just interesting that they all seem to be within an LSAT point or two and .1 in GPA.

if last year is any indicator we could very well all hear back this week... i'm sure a lot of us have a lot riding on attending NU or not in the next couple dayscookiejar1 wrote:So... I'm really nervous right now.
Didn't you take the Asian LSAT administration in October with me? If so, that makes us best friends... right? In that case... I hope you get Columbia and proceed to forward the $150,000 NU money to your best friend... me. Thanks, I really appreciate it.sokomofo wrote:just got offered $150,000! so unexpected.

Isn't good news considered getting into Northwestern?twinkletoes16 wrote:Does "forthcoming" mean we will all hear in the next few days? I would love that. I need some good news.
