Hey, didn't post yesterday, but updated from 1/22 (or 29th?) to 4/3 yesterday. I love how all my remaining applications are suddenly picking up momentum now that I've deposited at GULC
ETA: Also updated to 4/4 today.

Second update 1/29 -> 4/3 -> 4/4. Man am i getting nervous. Any prognostications given my scores are below average.

Well, I updated twice in a row and was admitted. They were updates #3 and 4, though.greenhouse wrote:Second update 1/29 -> 4/3 -> 4/4. Man am i getting nervous. Any prognostications given my scores are below average.

Finally, offered 30,000 in merit aid. Was hoping that Cornell would make it a difficult choice for me to attend UMich. Will be withdrawing shortly, GL.

If Cornell knew how many times a day I check my status checker, they would let me in for sure out of pity...

Haha, they probably actually do have that information if they chose to check it. Would be funny/interesting/sad I'm sure. (I was just as obsessive. With all of them.)whatismylife wrote:If Cornell knew how many times a day I check my status checker, they would let me in for sure out of pity...

Not seriously trying to change your mind here because your post sounds pretty decisive, but I thought I'd still mention that Cornell's employment prospects are a bit better than Michigan's (unless you're focused on Chicago or public sector). If you were hoping to go to Cornell, I think that its better career placement and financial savings make it the better choice.law2015 wrote:Finally, offered 30,000 in merit aid. But carry on, enjoy Ann Arbor.

I really like Cornell, but UMich offered me 54k in scholly and its tuition is roughly 15k cheaper over three years. Add ungraded LRW and that was the deal breaker for me. Why do you say that Cornell has better employment prospects?woeisme wrote:Not seriously trying to change your mind here because your post sounds pretty decisive, but I thought I'd still mention that Cornell's employment prospects are a bit better than Michigan's (unless you're focused on Chicago or public sector). Well, I guess I should have been more specific... Cornell's NLJ 250 placement (and I believe clerkship placement as well) has been better in recent years. I'll look and see if I can produce some links for that.law2015 wrote:

As for funding, I would have thought that Cornell would increase its scholarship to match Michigan's. Have you tried doing that?
Lastly, Michigan is obviously a great school and I didn't realistically think that my comment would make you rethink anything. I would, however, strongly urge you to not choose a school based upon having ungraded LRW.

as someone in the reserve pile, may i please beseech you NOT to convince people to go to Cornell if its not where they want to bewoeisme wrote:Well, I guess I should have been more specific... Wait to see Cornell's new employment stats within the next couple weeks. Hopefully they will be more detailed. Have you seen Professor Campos post about Michigan's employment prospects? I don't think you can go wrong with either choice though, and most people will prefer Ann Arbor to Ithaca.law2015 wrote:I really like Cornell, but UMich offered me 54k in scholly and its tuition is roughly 15k cheaper over three years. Thanks, at this point I am set on attending UMich unless NYU decides to surprise me and accepts me. Good luck to those still waiting to hear from Cornell!Mr. Somebody wrote:Wait to see Cornell's new employment stats within the next couple weeks. Hopefully they will be more detailed. Still at 1/22. I suppose the good news is they absolutely have to give out a decision of some sort within the next 3-4 weeks.

I know EA is not binding here, but does it provide one with any advantage whatsoever? I have a 3.5, what LSAT would almost guarantee acceptance through EA? Would it need to be the 170 mark?

Hey um, where do I find the details of the scholarship condition? (Like do I need a certain grade to continue getting the grant?)

How long does it normally take after being admitted at Cornell to receive the Financial Aid package?

I can't believe my status updated today. Too bad I've already given up on them and decided to go elsewhere. I paid good money for that decision though, and they are certainly going to give me one.
