Up until this point all DLS have been rejections, but WLs should start coming soon. The decision letters are sent via snail mail.jeng wrote:So if your status says DLS does that mean for sure ding or wl? Is it sent by snail mail?

I'm unsure. More an acquaintance than a friend actually.bdubs wrote:Were they a late applicant (January or February UR)?aesis wrote:Friend of mine got in this morning. GPA 3.87+, idk the LSAT score though.

DLS
I knew it was a stretch when I applied though. Would be great to get some WL consideration but I am expecting and am surprisingly ok with a ding.

These are not the kind of decisions I want Dean Deal to be making today. Sorry to all those who received a DLS.

At least I won´t have to open it myself, it´s always easier to hear news from momConfused7 wrote:Sorry to hear that, ChriLa.ChriLa425 wrote:DLS![]()

Yeah I know they haven´t been going out yet, but since I didn´t get a call that´s probably the best-case scenario.

Sorry for all of those who got DLSed.
So for those of us still alive, as far as we know, they played 52-card pickup with our files and are now just going through in whatever order they turned out, yes?

. Best of luck to you.

A handful of students at Penn's ASW told me to go to S if I get in. So... please?

Guess so? Still alive thankfully. I reviewed Tomwatt's data mining and it looks like waitlists will start going out next week (started March 29 last year), and another wave of acceptances will go from early April to around mid-April.misterbingley wrote:Sorry for all of those who got DLSed.

Tomwatts wrote:3/5 (Fri): 11/15, 175, 3.91, and 10/28*, 177, 4.05
3/6 (Sat): 1/6, 174, 3.98
3/29 (Mon): First reported waitlist! This one was 11/19, 171, 3.91.
4/2 (Fri): 11/19, 171, 3.64, and 1/6, 173, 3.85
4/7 (Wed): 1/7, 175, 3.8, and 10/29, 177, 4.1, and 11/3, 174, 3.81, and 12/29*, 178, 3.91

4/9 (Fri): 11/25, 168, 4.15, and 10/22, 164, 3.89, and 12/2, 171, 3.85
Decisions keep flowing in through mid-April (mostly slow down at 4/16), but no one else reports an acceptance after this point.
4/11 (Sun): blog post indicating that decisions will be finalized this week

We are losing people fast day by day...oh cruel world! And yes, it seems that it's pretty much random by now. There were a couple URMs that got in recently, but other than that I don't think they're categorizing the files by anything. Slowly weeding us out...

I'm almost certain that Dean Deal is making her way toward the end of the pile for February submits/completes.
Then it's WL time!

Re: Stanford Law School 2011 Applicants (Pics)
my two cents on this, purely speculative is that they are going through cycles of review. Under a first general review, they rejected absolutely unqualified candidates, the ones who stood no chance. Similarly, they accepted the ones who were deemed very well qualified, the ones with stellar numbers AND the stellar softs whom they they regarded they could not reject or waitlist no matter who applied later. They are going through similar rounds of reviews now, rejecting and accepting people, and holding others who are kind of in that middle ground, some with may be sub-par numbers but really great softs, but others who have good numbers with decent softs; when it comes to this middle category, it's really hard to judge among people. You have to give it to them. It's a very arduous task. How do you judge somebody who has a 172 and 3.8 against somebody who has 167 3.7 but with considerable softs that will contribute to SLS. Is the sacrifice of 5 additional LSAT points worth the softs? Here in this board, people will tell you, oh no, of course not, numbers are the only thing that count, but believe me Stanford does not need your numbers, they are Stanford! Whereas Columbia and Chicago may try to up their average for ranking, in HYS, it's a whole different ball game. Those schools can afford to go beyond numbers, and in fact they do. Altough, if you have numbers that are way sub-par, then unless you are URM, it's probably dim for you. But that's my point. They process takes time because they are very careful and deliberate That was a was a digression, sorry.
It seems like there are rejections for both peoble who UR in mid-February and earlier. So my guess is WLs and admits are more highly than DLS at this point, BUT, those who have not heard, are by no means safe. I think there will be more DLS coming out in the weeks ahead, but WL and admit are more likely. My two cents.
Good luck to everyone!

aspeer, heres to hope that those of us left are admits or WL. Frankly I'd be overjoyed to be WL at Stanford. That leaves the door slightly open!

Re: Stanford Law School 2011 Applicants (Pics)
So perhaps, barring a couple who are closer to auto-admits or who applied more recently, most us still waiting are "borderline" candidates? In the next few weeks, they'll have to make the difficult call of who to accept and who to WL/DLS. Speaking of WLs, does anyone know how often/to what extent SLS draws from its waitlist?

Re: Stanford Law School 2011 Applicants (Pics)
hey guys--my Stanford dream is officially over, just got the rejection letter in the mail.
.
Isn't it funny just as I posted here, and was truly starting to hope well may be I have a chance...then got ready for a job, went out, boom the mail from Stanford. I immediately knew it was a rejection.
Oh well, I was kind of expecting given my numbers. UR on February 15, and surprisingly no DLS update in my status page?! PM me if you would like more specifics. Good luck to everyone!
