I'm getting this thread confused with the NYU thread where I'm also waiting... DLS means WL/ding always, right?

Unfortunately, yes

. Sorry to hear. If you'd rather not wait for the snail mail letter, you can call the admissions office and they'll tell you which one it is.

Is that when you submitted your app or when it went under review?

I'm sorry for the bad news everyone. I'm sure you all have incredible options, although I doubt that makes it all seem better right now... Stanford is being really weird this year..

Hey kids--after waiting 7 MONTHS I got the DLS. Called to check and it was a ding. With a sub-3.6 GPA I was wondering what took so long! U Chicago or Dook for me; good luck to the rest of ya! Strangely relieved at having finally heard from everyone. Excuse me while I go chop down a tree.

Hey guys. I'm yazzthelawyer who got waitlisted at Stanford. I received my DLS on Thursday evening, and confirmed today that it was a waitlist. I asked the Stanford admissions office to give me a decision by today since I have a Berkeley scholarship deadline, and they complied. Not sure if others have been waitlisted yet! Good luck!!

Sorry but can you just explain the bolded part again? Last week, you told them that you had a deadline of today, and they gave you a decision (waitlist) last Thursday?

A few weeks ago I let Stanford know I have a scholarship deadline on April 14, and Stanford said they would try to get me a decision by that date. I checked my status checker constantly an received DLS on Thursday. Then called to confirm today, and turned out I got waitlisted.
