I'm really pleased to hear that WhiteGuy got in today. I'm in a similar position (similar numbers, no email, same apply/status checker dates). My status checker is still "Complete" and there was nothing in the mail today.

I'm now into month number five since submission. I kind of want Michigan not to give me a response so I can go for some kind of record.hyakku wrote:^This +1000. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, I'm a huge Elliott fan. Nice avatar.Elliott_Smith wrote:Congrats!

Numbers weren't really competitive, 163/3.5 URM. I'm guessing it was the softs that pushed me over the edge. Regardless, I'm in shock.

Edit: Just to be sure, does the status checker change from COMPLETE to saying something else? Or does it stay at complete, and at the bottom your decision is there? The reason I ask is because underneath Explanation of Status options it's got:
But I think it's always been like that and that's just an explanation. Just checking and making sure I didn't get waitlisted and never noticed -_-.Waitlist Offer Extended:

Still no status checker...4 weeks, 3 days, and counting. So I should expect a decision sometime in April? Haha the anxiety might kill me before then. Michigannn why won't you love meeeee.

Just got a really nice response from the adcom about my application...starting to get my hopes up that they're actually considering me and not just thrown in auto-reject...damn the status checker that updates randomly at any time in the day!

Still don't have the status checker. Not only is Michigan slower than other schools, I almost get the feeling they take pride in it. I suppose that is how you do things when you are shaking violently from the cold? Much more difficult to provide applicants their status checker in a reasonable time period.

Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Is anyone in a similar boat as I am? Michigan was a top choice, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to move there until December at which point I applied immediately!
The more I talk to you guys and dream about walking on campus and clinic participation and living in A2, the more fearful I get at the thought of handling a rejection. It's now my #1 and I don't know if I can handle it. I can't comfort myself in the same way I would with other schools in thinking, "oh, they didn't really read my application." Based on interactions with adcomms, I know they are thoughtful and cognizant which makes it harder.
