I have just received the wait-list letter from SWLS. What happens if I do not write the additional statements? What happens if I do?
I'm going to fill it out and send it ASAP as this is my first choice.
Did you end up answering the two questions? It says on my wait list letter that if I do write them they have to accompany the wait list response. I am almost done writing the answers... i think I am mailing it in tomorrow.

Also, I think I read how someone said it could take 8-10 weeks to reach a decision. How much time do you have to wait between your file being complete to it going into review?

Don't worry about this unless and until you are wait-listed. You will have a decision (in or wait-list) long before you would need to make a move. However, you could always move out here sooner (before you have a final decision) and plan to attend a California law school. Even if you strike out completely, California Western in San Diego starts a section in January, so you wouldn't have to wait an entire year to start law school.

Just got back from Southwestern, I went down to the admissions office to drop off my waitlist acceptance letter along with my two essays in person. I walked around a little bit; beautiful campus, near Staples Center, the students seem sharp meandering within a eagerly studious atmosphere. Night and day from the tier 4's in the region, and certainly not as laid back as Chapman. Here's hoping for the best.

What do they ask you in these essays?

They ask you two separate questions....describe any academic difficulties you had and how you fixed it.....how will you decide which school to attend if you are admitted into more than one school.

Does anyone know if you can take more than 9 credits 1st and 2nd semester as a part-time student? also, do you think you can be placed as a full-time student after your first year? I've been trying to find this on their website, but having no luck.

No, but you can take summer school during your first summer (probably 6 credits). That will put you at 24 credits. At that point I think you can register as a full time student . However, you'll need to do some extra catching up to finish in 3 years.

My status changed today to "file complete and ready for review"
How long does it usually take for your application to be reviewed once file is complete? Thanks.

Yes, I will answer the two questions. Almost done. Will be done by this Friday maybe earlier. I'd like to finish today, but I must earn minimum wage, lol.
Don't forget to print them out on resume paper.

August is a ways-away. What part of L.A. do you wish to live in? Apartments-a-plenty around the SWLS area.

I don't really know, I have only been to LA once last year, so I would have to ask my friends that live there/ask around.
Anyway, my file has not even been reviewed yet just went complete today, so who even knows when I will hear. I applied for the full-time, part-time ( day and night), so hopefully I will be accepted to one, but who knows.

Is SWLS located in an urban setting? I think so because the immediate area is so diverse.

How long did your application review take?
I applied mid-November and received my acceptance about 6 weeks after my application completed. When I visited the school in January, one girl who used to work for admission told me that the school takes at least 2 months to get back to applicants. This is also the first year that they're interviewing people for scholarship.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
