I think the prevalence of coasties at UW and your tar may be negatively affecting your application.

Since I've been here, I've noticed that almost everyone who gets tagged with the "coastie" label is actually from Illinois or the Milwaukee area. Most of the people from the East Coast I've met are quite normal.

Why would you venture in there in the first place. So many other worthwhile bars to go to instead.

For the record, I do not frequent, nor am I especially fond of the KK. My point was only that this is where the real/stereotypical "coasties" can be found.

I don't think it's even open...I thought I saw a sign saying its license had been suspended. Man that place is a hellhole.

Also, anyone going to either of the ASW's in March or April? I'm debating it, but even if not--it'd be cool to putz around Madison late at night. Weekends here are an absolute blast.

I'll be most likely going to the one in April. Right around deposit time.

From Simpler Times:
A lot of it is state politics. Wisconsin republicans do everything they can hamstring the 'liberals down thar in Madison.' We even had a state assemblyman propose cutting ALL funding for UW Law. Additionally, your scholarship is already figured into your tuition. Instate in Wisconsin is significantly lower than in almost all peer schools.

Jolly - If you can go t14, go t14. I didn't study for the LSAT and I'm constantly kicking myself for not applying earlier/better and going to GULC or Cornell or something. That said, I'm in much the same boat you are (my love for Madison made me irrational) and I want you to know, that I would have gone to Northwestern at sticker in a second.

Remember, there's always IBR, and in this economy I'd go for the biggest job market I could.

Yeah...it's probably why the WL is so frustrating. UW operates on an honors system, so many can accept and then WD months later with no penalty.

Ugh, I wish I hadn't mentioned something about a seat deposit in my LOCI. I really hope that doesn't affect my chances there.

Spend the next month or so kneeling before the entrance of the office of admission and begging for Dean Hall's sympathy. To mix in some dramatic effect, get someone to shower you with snow while simultaneously calling a press conference expressing your unquenched love for Madison.

Bummer, dude/dudette!

I cannot for the life of me figure out Wisconsin's timing. Judging by LSN you went complete a month after I did and I still haven't heard a word. My coworker went complete the day before me and hasn't heard a word, either...

There seems to be no pattern to Wisco's cycle!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
