I wish they were still #35, then it might be easier to get into.

Do they ever send a complete email? I submitted and got an email saying that they received my application and that I would hear from them in 6-8 weeks but that is it.

Re: In at IU-Bloomington!!!!
People keep saying IU is overrated, and that its ranking will be sure to fall soon. The problem with that the criteria which is keeping IU's ranking supposedly inflated is unlikely to subside any time soon. In fact, the way things are going, the raw admissions numbers are bound to go up faster than its peers' numbers, which will cause the ranking to at least stay within a few spots of its current slot. I don't understand people's logic that since IU is perceived to be over-ranked that it is bound to fall in the rankings soon based on that alone. When has that ever been the case with other schools?

Okay so I am sort of concerned now... I got an email from the Dean that said congratulations and had a video for me to watch, but its been over a week since the email and no acceptance packet?! Did this happen for anyone else? I really hope it wasn't a mistake

Re: In at IU-Bloomington!!!!
BOILER UP!!!!!!!!!!! HAIL PURDUE!!!!
I had to preface this post with my love for Purdue as I went there for undergrad and the following is killing me:
Accepted today via priority mail with 13k/year scholarship. That personal letter is a nice touch (I mentioned music in my ps and they touched on that in the letter). I'm instate, so with the scholly, it's definitely my cheapest and highest ranking (not that I will base the decision solely on rankings but still..) option.
I've been following this thread for a while. I'm real superstitious so I never post in a school's thread until I've heard back from them - that's bad luck.
I don't know 100% if I'll be there next year, but most likely I will. It sounds like Halibut and Veritas are set on IU and I'd be happy to join you.
If I'm there next year, you'll know me right away because I'll be the guy wearing Purdue shirts. You'll have to beat my love for Purdue out of me.
Haha sorry this post probably makes no sense, but I'm pretty ecstatic right now. Go Hoosiers????

Indiana has an awesome campus. If I can somehow convince them to throw some more money my way, I would consider heading back to my home state. As for now though, I'm planning on paying sticker somewhere better that will have mercy on me and give me an acceptance.

Hey thanks traehekat and halibut! I went complete on 12/14, so I was right in their 6-8 week time frame.traehekat wrote:Haha congrats threepeat! When did you go complete?
I'm sure you'll be hearing good news traehekat! Our numbers are similar (164, 3.4), so you have me beat by a little.
Oh by the way, just a little score update for anyone who missed the game last night:
Purdue - 78, IU - 75

Update: Purdue #8, Indiana unranked, sub-.500, and composed nearly entirely of freshmen. Purdue should have won by 40. Can you say overrated?

Re: In at IU-Bloomington!!!!
As the sole blip in the 164 acceptance line on LSN, I felt a need to go over my app and see if I made an egregious mistake that would've barred me from admission. For TLS's sake... and my own, haha.
I did. I may've committed a variation of the one sin we're always told not to do in an application - I spelled Maurer wrong. I left out the first r (spelled it Mauer).
So worry not, 164s. You should all still be fine.
As for me? I'm most likely going to end up withdrawing from this cycle and retaking in June, as I'm fairly unhappy with how things turned out. I felt last June that I left a few questions on the LSAT (I got a -0 on the Mauve Dinosaurs, and only had a -5 RC... which meant -14 combined LR). I'm setting my sights quite a bit higher with a new study plan (170+... Here I come!) and will hopefully be reapplying next fall with a significantly upgraded application.
I wish you all the best, and hope those you sweating out acceptances know/remember... the 164 line is still safe (as far as we know!).
