To clarify. Any idea why they are putting a premium on speed as opposed to every other cycle where they've made phone calls?TAD wrote:Schneidersbetter wrote:Thoughts on why they are making the switch to email?hammy393 wrote:@ylsadmissions: "Offers will be going out over the next several days! Oh. Well according to the OP, there had been 4 acceptance waves by this time last year. This year there has only been 1. So probably trying to catch up.Schneidersbetter wrote:

Or to be even blunder. What is different about this year?
or maybe because they're sick of everyone fainting when they get the call and they would rather people faint in disbelief without wasting Yale's valuable time ? who knowsSchneidersbetter wrote:To clarify. Yea that makes sense. Tbh I'm really wondering about the underlying causes. Obvs this has been a weird cycle, in terms of applications and scores and whatnot. But I wonder what has prompted yls to first wait longer than usual, and then feel the need to speed up. It's seems slightly out of character for them to send that solicitation email. And then to change their acceptance MOTAD wrote:Oh. Well according to the OP, there had been 4 acceptance waves by this time last year. This year there has only been 1. Just as a note, that email that went out about URM/LGBT applicants also went out last year. I know because I took the LSAT a year early and started getting things like that before I was actually going to start applying, including Yale's email and the URM packet with sample essays that they send out. So that in particular is nothing newSchneidersbetter wrote:Yea that makes sense. Tbh I'm really wondering about the underlying causes. Yeah, honestly I've been confused about why any schools calls. Seems like a waste of time for admission officers and not super useful for students, either.dietcoke1 wrote:or maybe because they're sick of everyone fainting when they get the call and they would rather people faint in disbelief without wasting Yale's valuable time ? who knowsSchneidersbetter wrote:To clarify. Eh, hard to say with Yale sending out emails suddenly, but the way they say 'over the next several days' makes me think we should expect more little bundles of acceptances today and tomorrow.fall17law wrote:Are we thinking there was a single wave at 12:37 PM, and anyone who didn't get one can stop refreshing email for the day?
Wondering the same thing, but if months of stalking this thread have taught me anything, it's that Yale does Yale, so who knows. Not that I'll ever stop refreshing just in case, obviously.Smc1994 wrote:If onlyfall17law wrote:Are we thinking there was a single wave at 12:37 PM, and anyone who didn't get one can stop refreshing email for the day?
