It's high on my list but it's not THE school I'm waiting to hear back from.

It's high on my list, but I can probably be swayed by more money from another school.

Meh... I applied because it's a T14 - we'll see how my cycle goes.

Really just plan on using it for scholarship negotiation purposes.

Still feel really unsure. I'll probably visit or go to ASW to get a better feel for the school/location.

Sounds like you definitely might be YPed. Look on LSN, they waitlisted a ton of people over 75ths last year.

And I'm in the same boat as you. Above 75ths and radio silence since submission in Sept.

Same here. Was already YP'ed by Duke and Virginia, or maybe something is terribly wrong with my app, idk. Lsat>75ths for all those schools, GPA hovering at the 25th or a tiny bit below.

Yes, I did. Worried that it wasn't convincing enough, though, because I didn't spend 5 hours browsing this forum beforehand to see how intense people get about their Why X essays...

I submitted about a week ago and am also incomplete - in process. I think you're fine.

I wouldn't get too worried yet. It seems like late-Oct. applicants are just now getting responses for the most part.

So you've been confirmed WL'ed at Duke and UVA? I didn't even know Duke engaged in those shenanigans.

I didn't write a Why essay for either. Duke put me priority reserve and UVA waitlisted me, yeah.

Well, without the Why essays, you might've shot yourself in the foot a little, especially because UVA seems pretty YP-averse.

Makes no sense why you'd be YP'ed unless you didn't write the Why Michigan because I had >> 75s for both.

To be fair, is it really YP if you're not above both 75ths, or even above median for both stats?

I think when you have 75> for both, then they can entice you with large scholarships and that stuff. Since I'm a splitter LSAT>75 but gpa=25 or a bit lower than 25, then they can't offer me those kind of scholarships.

If I put my stats into the LSAC calculator, I have a higher chance of getting into Harvard than UVA.

Also the cycle might just be very erratic for splitters, I don't know. I do regret not writing the why essays, though.

For what it's worth, I'm also above 75ths, and have yet to hear anything. Applied 10/25, went complete 10/31.Definitely feel the pain of those in a similar boat.

Would it be weird to send in a Why Michigan essay at this point in the cycle? I think I do have some decently compelling reasons for being interested in Michigan, some of which were not factors at the time I initially applied (namely, that my girlfriend got into Med School there and will probably be attending next year)...

Good to know info, just received from UM:

"Michigan Law provides a significant amount of grant aid to incoming students every year. You will be automatically considered for merit grants based on the information provided at the time you applied; we begin making the bulk of our decisions in January, and by the end of January, will be on track to let awardees know within two weeks of their offer; no separate application is necessary."

Yeah. I've liked all of their communication efforts so far. It's actually what made me start to think a few years in Michigan might not be terrible
