I met a guy who did. But he went in like the 50s or 60s. He said he and his friends took the LSAT while still drunk from the previous night.clarf wrote:My friend said his uncle knew a guy who knew a guy who did.pterodactyls wrote:Do people actually get in to Stanford or is it just a myth?

In all seriousness, I've got a second-cousin doing his doctorate there now. So people do get admitted once in awhile I guess.ProductofUnreality wrote:I met a guy who did. Finally went complete. It took Stanford a month to check off the study abroad transcript requirement, which is not applicable at all in my case.
But you can do whatever, Stanford, as long as you love me.
Congrats to recently admitted ppl!!

Hey guys. Sorry if this has been brought up before, but the "What to expect when you're expecting" thread claims the "submitted for review" status should only last several days before receiving some sort of decision. My app (submitted late, Jan 2nd) went complete almost immediately, and has been "submitted for review" since the 6th. What's your experience with the submitted status? Has this changed from previous cycles?

"Submitted for review" is just Stanford's way of saying "complete." I doubt it's ever a matter of days... more like months.Siegfried42 wrote:Hey guys. Re: Stanford C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016 cycle)
^^. I'm afraid you misinterpreted the language in the When you're Expecting thread. It was saying that it shouldn't take more than a few days after you've submitted your application for your status checker to change to "Submitted for Review." After that, there are no status checker updates until a decision has been rendered so you just have to sit back and wait.philawsopher wrote:"Submitted for review" is just Stanford's way of saying "complete." Wishful thinking, critical thinking, and anxious thinking are the unholy trinity.Siegfried42 wrote:Ah, of course, lol. That would make a lot more sense. Sorry, wishful thinking and critical thinking are not friends

FWIW, admitted students FB page just went live. Only about 25 people in it at the moment, surely many who haven't yet accepted invite.

When you glance quickly at your caller ID and read "Stamford, CT" and freak out for a split second until you reread it.
