Naw. This is what it says in the letter, "Insofar as financial aid is concerned, we understand that the cost of legal education is a significant factor in your decision-making process. We anticipate beginning to award scholarship offers shortly so please be on the lookout."HalfStudent wrote:Did they say exactly when they would give out the $$$$.

Nothing on my end. Just a quick FYI for anyone who is UR, but registered for the Feb LSAT. They put your application on hold until the scores are released. They will not evaluate your application even if you ask them to continue without the Feb score. They said the choices I had were to wait until the scores are released or provide proof that I cancelled my registration for the Feb LSAT.

I know I asked the same thing, it really sucks. I don't get their reasoning behind this.keosu11 wrote:Nothing on my end. Just a quick FYI for anyone who is UR, but registered for the Feb LSAT. FWIW - I asked the same thing since I am signed up for Feb LSAT, was annoyed with their answer, and then still got accepted. So...basically...you can keep stressing.calawgrl wrote:I know I asked the same thing, it really sucks. I don't get their reasoning behind this.keosu11 wrote:Nothing on my end. You can still get a great scholarship and negotiate it higher if you are taking the February LSAT. It sucks that you have to wait longer, but you're not at a disadvantage.

Makes sense but I just don't like the policy. I decided to call 3 weeks ago too and the explanation I was given was that if they evaluate people with February LSATs and reject them, then those people will demand their application be reconsidered. That seems like a ridiculous reason to not allow people to request their applications be evaluated with pending LSATslogicspeaks wrote:You can still get a great scholarship and negotiate it higher if you are taking the February LSAT. According to LSN 30 people were accepted, 1 rejected, and 4 waitlisted with my numbers. I explained I wasn't retaking for admission purposes, but rather for scholarship purposes. They told me I could withdraw, which I responded with that doesn't make very much financial sense. USC is one of my top choices because I want to practice in the SoCal area, but the truth is I'm not going to withdraw to improve my chances at USC when I could be throwing away tens of thousands at other schools by withdrawing.

Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
The woman I talked to on Friday was nice and explained that it shouldn't affect my admission by being held for another 4-5 weeks. She said due to the number of applicants dropping as long as my scores are good I should be fine. The policy is slightly frustrating, but it is what it is. Hopefully they do what they did to lokikoala and just let me in.carbo09 wrote:Makes sense but I just don't like the policy. I submitted my application 11/7/14 and my status still reads "complete". Anyone in the same boat?
When should I start contacting the Office of Admissions?

I went complete 10/31 and just went under first review a few days ago. I'd give it a little more time.BManCal90 wrote:I submitted my application 11/7/14 and my status still reads "complete". Anyone in the same boat?

In. Surprised they ended up reviewing my application after explicitly telling me they wouldn't due to the Feb LSAT.
