Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
I just received a LOR that truly belongs on my list of recommenders. I did NOT realize that UChi doesn't want updates to an application after it's complete, which mine is. Should I still call/email and ask if I can send it or will it irritate them? I'm RD and just recently went complete, so I'm sure they haven't reviewed it yet.
Has anyone successfully gotten them to update their file?

Makes sense to me. Ultimately this is a personal decision and I'm glad you got the outcome you sought when you got into this. Congrats!TheLordTitan wrote:For reasons I choose not to disclose best option I had was Chicago! So it goes

Date change today as well; I think this is UR4 (RD). Pretty sure I had UR1 and UR2 in October, followed by UR3 dated 11/4 shortly after my interview.

It seems like many RD applicants have updated UR4 dates, what are the chances of receiving decisions next week?

Me too. I'm RD--went complete in very late October. I think I had UR 1 and 2 before the interview, had my interview and UR3 on the same day (12/2), and now it's UR 4 as of 12/19. I hope this will bring me some much craved good news, hopefully sometime very soonstrugglebus wrote:Date change today as well; I think this is UR4 (RD). Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
I was reading the description in the "What to Expect..." thread for Chicago date changes, and I'm a little bit confused by mine as well as by what other people are posting about.
I went complete in late October, UR1 10/31, and was in the 11/12 interview invite wave. The next date change I had was on the same day as my interview. It seems like this would be UR2 from the above path to a decision. Is it possible that this is also UR3 and I just missed it? I haven't had a date change since the day of my interview so I'm not sure if I should anxiously be refreshing the status checker in hopes of the UR4 date change others are reporting or if the next date change I receive would actually only be UR3 for me.Since I've seen a lot of questions about this lately, here is my best understanding of the status checker journey for people who are admitted:
Application Received
Application Complete (you get an email for this)
Application Under Review (UR 1) <- indicates first committee review of your file
(OPTIONAL) Application Under Review (UR 1.5) <- I did not receive this step, but I believe some people did
Invited for Interview
Application Under Review (UR 2) <- generally immediately after your interview, indicates that the interview is done
Application Under Review (UR 3) <- indicates second committee review of your file
Application Under Review (UR 4) <- most (all?) people get this in the days leading up to decisions being released. Both waves of decisions this year have been on Tuesday; UR4s have started on Friday and continued on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. As far as I know, getting UR 4 happens whether you're getting admitted, WL'd, or dinged in the wave.

For what it is worth, I had my interview 11/24, and still have not gotten UR3 either. I have very competitive numbers, and did not think I completely failed my interview.ms2014 wrote:I was reading the description in the "What to Expect..." thread for Chicago date changes, and I'm a little bit confused by mine as well as by what other people are posting about.

Hello. I've been UR (presumably 2 or 3) since 11/17 (right after my interview) any thoughts on why I haven't had any movement?

My guess is that you are just in a different batch of folks who are just behind folks who applied really early. So far, I don't think anyone has reported UR4 who had a UR3 as late as you. Hang in there, looks like they are moving more quickly than even they anticipated.liz9332 wrote:Hello. Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
Had my UR3 (after my interview) 12/3 and UR4 12/19, so I'm slightly later than the OP, but I don't think you should read too much into this. Plus there's not been any acceptances so far and the decisions usually come out in late January.cc78 wrote:My guess is that you are just in a different batch of folks who are just behind folks who applied really early. According to Twitter, they're sending another round of interview invites tomorrow.

If they'd be so kind as to layer in some RD acceptances with that interview wave, that would be a wonderful Christmas miracle...strugglebus wrote:According to Twitter, they're sending another round of interview invites tomorrow.

How does Chicago send out interview invites? I haven't been keeping up with my status checker at all, but for some reason I decided to check it this morning, and it says "Invited For Interview" with a date of 12/23. I don't have an email or call though...
