Just got an email from them saying my app was selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee. They say a final decision will be ~Feb 6th. Hope that means good things?

I guess it's better than a rejection, but not as good as an admit by the dean? Good luck everyone!antiworldly wrote:Just got an email from them saying my app was selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee. They say a final decision will be ~Feb 6th. I'm in the same boat. Is there anything we know about this other than it means more people are gonna take a look?

It means we are still in the running, we passed the first hurdle. Basically, we aren't 180/4.0 cali residents, but we meet the criteria for acceptance so off to committee review we go!

Hey all,
Just got the "pushed to faculty review" email notification too, with the same final decision date (~Feb 6). Anyone know historically what the odds are at this point?

Admissions Website wrote: Administrative Review
Once an application file is complete, it is evaluated on the basis of the admissions criteria by the Dean of Admissions. He admits a certain number of applicants who, under the governing criteria and on the basis of his experience, would have a high likelihood of admission if referred to the Admissions Committee. Similarly, applicants who would have a high likelihood of being denied if referred to the Committee are denied by the Dean of Admissions.
Committee Review
The remaining applicants are given more extended consideration by the Admissions Committee which is composed of faculty and students.
The student role is consultative and the faculty members' decisions are final. Only students who are members of the Admissions Committee are permitted to read files. You may indicate on the application form whether or not you consent to have your file read by a student member of the Committee. In the evaluation of your application, no weight is given to whether or not you consent to student review. In every case complete confidentiality of all materials is maintained.
As a result of the Committee's consideration, some applicants are admitted, some are placed on a waiting list, and the remaining applicants are denied. The total number admitted is that which experience has indicated will fill the places available in the entering class. If the number of admitted students who accept an offer of admission falls below the number necessary to fill the class, a waiting list is used to fill the remaining places.

Did everyone just forget how to use google?
Approximately 1400-1600 go to faculty review, and of those around 200 are admitted.
About 200 people total are eventually placed on the waitlist, and historically the number of people admitted from that is low (biggest cycle recently was ~40). The waitlist is ranked and writing an LOCI will not make a difference. This is why some people choose to write an LOCI now.

Hope this doesn't mean it's too late to get faculty review for people who took the Dec LSAT and submitted afterwards.
Also 300 were placed on the wait list last year. And more than 40 have been accepted off WL recently. You're going off old info Swadianfc.
