Wow, just had my interview. My interviewer was so nice and normal she made the UChicago interviewer seem like a robot in comparison. She also made Columbia sound so awesome, maybe I'll have to put it back on my list...

Same here lol
Works pretty well, except when there are 10,000 updates because people are debating about ED again

Can the people that have already done their Columbia interviews PM me any generic questions they remember getting in the interview? I'll make a list and post ITT.

And by generic I mean any question that was not created based on information in your app/resume - so if the question asked you to elaborate on your experience in student government while you were studying abroad in Paris, you don't have to mention that. But if it was something like, "Describe your leadership style?" that would be really helpful.

Thank you all in advance.

Yeah. No need to PM. Just look over Chicago interview stuff and you are good.

For me, the Chicago and Harvard interview questions covered everything.

If I submitted around November 1st and I still haven't been contacted for an interview or anything is that a bad sign? I know their website says interviews aren't always indicative of being admitted, but what seems to be the actual trend? Who should expect an interview? All they've done is ask for my fall grades a few days ago

Xylo's take on this, to which i agree with;
xylocarp wrote: last year, lots of people were admitted without interviewing. that's probably the case this year too. there's a lot of speculation about what the interviews mean/who's chosen, and we don't know for sure, but it seems to be a combination of interviewing borderline candidates, borderline named scholarship candidates, and probably just some people for whom they want to clarify some things. I think in general it's probably a neutral or good thing, but definitely not the cause for excitement that say, getting a JS1 is.
If it helps, I applied early Oct and received interview offer a week ago, so it seems normal to wait for quite a few months

I did, about a week ago. I'm at/above both 75ths, if that helps to provide any context.

For anyone who had an interview, what was the date range they were open for? Last year, decisions went out while the first wave of interviews were ongoing (those with interviews had to wait a little bit longer actually), so the earlier timeline this year might mean decisions for everyone who applied early enough are coming sooner.

The second wave after they initially ran out of slots ran through Jan. 23

I know Campos called them out a couple of years ago for sending a slew of waivers to obviously unqualified applicants at the end of the cycle presumably to boost application numbers.
