Houston Law is a joke for not even trying to keep the good candidates.El Principe wrote:Withdrawing today... Deadline is a few weeks away and I still don't have scholly info. LSAT>50 GPA>75.

Wait listed as of today 3/31/14. Applied mid-feburary. I haven't received an email or letter, but I checked my application status and it said, "decision rendered- wait listed." Unless some sort of terrible mistake has been made (I can dream), I'm sure I'll be hearing from them soon with the news.
3.8 degree GPA/3.1 Cumulative GPA/155 LSAT/somewhat non-traditional student. PM if you want more detailed info. If anyone has any good advice about LOCI for wait listed, or just expressing CI in general I'd love to hear it. Although I've miraculously gotten into better schools than UH (CU for instance), I really want to go to UH for personal life reasons.

To date, waitlisted applicants have not heard anything back from UH. According to past threads, WL letters go out in April. Only one LOCI will be added to your file, so make it count!pastaparty wrote:Wait listed as of today 3/31/14. Applied mid-feburary. 2012 cycle I got WL in mid-April and then in off the list 14 days later; I then withdrew, only to have them call me back with money after that (but get my residency wrong in the process). It's this time of year that things start to get a little weird.pastaparty wrote:Wait listed as of today 3/31/14. Applied mid-feburary. I got WL'ed by CU. Who knows how admissions work. We should petition both schools to see if we can trade.Although I've miraculously gotten into better schools than UH (CU for instance), I really want to go to UH for personal life reasons.

Mine just updated with "Financial Aid Information" again (the first email on March 25 stating that they'll be begin sending out financial aid packages in late April, and today's date). Nothing is in my email (including spam) so I'm not sure what this means - hard copy sent of the 3/25 email, financial aid package (though earlier than their late April prediction), or what. I did get an email from a Student Ambassador today so maybe it was mislabeled. :/

Haha. Deal. I'm going back and forth really hard between Houston and Boulder, but for me, I think it's best if I stay in Houston, even if that means I go to STCL.uvandy wrote:In by email!

That sounds promising for me. I have another friend who ended up going to Baylor, but she eventually got in to UH from the wait list too. Her stats were much better than mine, but I'm just going to show them that I really want it with a letter and a visit if I haven't heard anything by May 1. UH is where I go for undergrad, so it's no trouble to show my face and shake a hand or two.BVest wrote:2012 cycle I got WL in mid-April and then in off the list 14 days later; I then withdrew, only to have them call me back with money after that (but get my residency wrong in the process). I've noticed some really low scholarships. Either they are running out of money or playing with ya'll. Most likely the latter.kobe1020 wrote:me too.lsatyolo wrote:Received scholarship info tonight via email. Disappointed...

Re: Houston c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Same. But I noticed on Law School Numbers for the past several years that after February they really don't give out a lot of scholarships. I realize not everyone posts on there, but the number of scholarships awarded definitely go down significantly after February (0 to 1 or 2). And in last year's TLS thread, someone said the same thing about all the merit scholarships being awarded before March. Only one or two people posted that they heard about a scholarship after March.lsatyolo wrote:Received scholarship info tonight via email. Disappointed...
