Re: UCLA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
I got email about admittance. However, considering that I totally forgot to update the school for my new phone number that I got since I sent in my application, I probably missed the phone call regarding scholarships.
Is there any way to know what offer you received beside getting the call? Will the admitted student's packet they mail have the offer?
Thanks.

Maybe that's it. Hopefully they just allocate $$ to Cali people first and send out scholarship offers to other people later?Bajam wrote:Seems like $$ is going to Cali people. No love for the east coast

Anyone here accept UCLA's admission yet? According to their Class of 2014 facebook group, there's 200+ people already. And since it's a closed group, I assume you would have to have accepted for them to approve your join request?

When you are admitted they send an email and ask you to join the Facebook group whether or not you are planning on attending UCLA Law.

Sigh...
Complete since late nov. 177/ 25-50% GPA. Applied last year and got rejected with a lower LSAT. Radio silence this time around. It's so frustrating when seeing these quick turnarounds

Oh, my email was just a link to the page and no text whatsoever. I was speculating that you can apply to join, but they would only take you in if you had actually accepted.hweigel wrote:When you are admitted they send an email and ask you to join the Facebook group whether or not you are planning on attending UCLA Law.

I was waitlisted on 1/7 through an email. A repeat of college apps where I was waitlisted or rejected from all the schools I thought I would get into for sure.
Feel free to message me for stats or whatever.

Doesn't seem like there was any significant movement yesterday... Does anyone know is admissions works on MLK Jr. day?

Re: UCLA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
I know you posted this over a month ago, but can I ask what your personal statement was about? My personal statement that I'm using for multiple schools is about my interest in public interest law, and how my volunteer experiences and undergrad courses about the law influenced this interest. But UCLA's personal statement promptStella77 wrote:This is probably going to annoy some of you, but hopefully you guys can shred some light. I live in LA and honestly UCLA would probably be my first choice if I got in and didn't have to pay full sticker. I've recently felt that I probably wont get in and have discouraged myself from even applying since I didn't receive a fee waiver. I was interested in the David Epstein public interest program, but my personal statement is practically the response to the public interest prompt. Do I have to apply to the public interest program to pursue public interest law??
I fell like if I am accepted to UCLA Law it would be on the grounds of my career goals (public interest related) and previous volunteer work. So it may hurt me not to apply to the Epstein program. If anyone has more information on this I would greatly appreciate it.
I have a 164 LSAT, 90th percentile.(I know retake! Unfortunately I already did, my first score was 161, and have come to realize I have some sort of test anxiety I've never had before, since I was scoring in the low 170s on practice exams. I do not feel I will score substantially higher a third time to be honest, so I'm going to work with what I got.)
GPA: 3.5, History Major.
Non-URM, although I am part Native American with no tribe affiliation- I guess that matters. So basically I'm just "white" (whatever that means) on my application.
I do have a good amount of volunteer history and have had a full-time job majority of my undergrad career.
asks you to "discuss any matters relevant to your ability to succeed in law school and the practice of law and any attributes, experiences, or interests that would enable you to make a distinctive contribution to the law school and/or the legal profession.
That is, my personal statement focuses on my interest in the law/law school, and UCLA asks me to write about what my contributions would be. Did you have a similar dilemma or did your essay better fit the personal statement prompt? Thanks!!
