My guess it would be to decide whether to WL or not depending on your numbers because of YP

So to answer your question.. yes. Seriously though, it's the most informal and relaxed 20 minute chat you'll have with someone you've never met before. I got the impression that there wasn't much I could say that would negatively affect my odds, it was more of a get-to-know-you and get-to-know-WUSTL type deal.

Rare though. It seems that if they're interested enough to give you an interview, you really just have to impress them/interview well hitting on all of the grading criteria they use for interviews (great thread on this somewhere). If you're not particularly well-spoken or if you raise red flags that may lean them towards YP, then obviously that won't be good. It seems a high proportion though of people who get interviewed and accepted soon after. I was

Around 5 CST on Fridays seemed to be when updates came out my cycle also. And I would imagine that they will send out a round before they go on break.

This is my thinking, too. Especially because there are a lot of schools that don't seem to have made more than a handful of offers yet, based on LSN. A bunch of the schools I applied to have huuuuuuuuuuuuge lists of "pending" applications and only one or two acceptances. Hopefully today's the day - I have 2/12 decisions so far, would love another acceptance before the holiday!
