Waitlisted today with a 166/3.3 ED. UCLA was my dream school but I can't say I'm surprised. My number were going to be a stretch. And actually, the mere fact that I was Waitlisted and not outright rejected with those numbers hopefully reflects the quality of my soft and my PS.

280 ED applications, 30 accepted through ED and 30 get WL. That's not too bad.

Bummer. Being an ED'er might help you get off the waitlist faster, though. Are those numbers actual for this year or from that interview with Dean Schwartz?

Applied RD and went complete 9/18. Haven't heard anything. 169/4.14. Starting to worry. :-/

I agree with the others in that you should pretty much be an auto-admit! I'm surprised you haven't heard anything, but I think it will come.

Are there any glaring factors that would go against you (major c&f issues, etc)?

I did submit a c&f addendum. Maybe that is the reason for not hearing. :-/

Does UCLA yield protect like some lower T-14s? I've been accepted to some T-14s already and one with significant money. Maybe because I didn't write a Why UCLA or program specific letter they are thinking I won't attend if accepted? My PS and resume is very public interest oriented, which UCLA seems to be focused on.

Guess I'll just have to sit back and wait.

My guess is they wouldn't yield project you. If anything they'll accept you, but not offer any money (this seems to be happening to people with really phenomenal numbers applying to UCLA). Of course you would be able to negotiate if you're truly interested in UCLA and you have money already at other T14's. I wouldn't be too concerned. I have slightly worse numbers (high 3.9X, 168) and they were kind enough to offer me $90,000. Best of luck!!

I talked to someone that is currently a 2L about this. He said to wait until you have more offers/the best offers you can get from other schools. So, basically around March. This will also give you time to visit and/or go to the admitted students weekend, which shows that you're legitimately interested and not trying to get an offer to use as leverage against another school.

EDIT: to clarify, the 2L is at UCLA law with 105k

Got in yesterday via a generic "Info for Admitted Students" email that said a formal letter of acceptance is in the mail. 169/3.93

Since it was a generic letter there was no mention of scholarship - can anyone shed light on how they were notified? Thanks!

I just missed a call, and Dean Schwartz left a message asking me to call back whenever. Is this definitely an acceptance call? If so or if not, what does he say/does he ask anything? wish I had answered because I would have had to deal with it but now I'm having anxiety about calling back haha.

ETA: being paranoid cuz i've read in another threads about unexpected dean phone calls where its like a mini interview

In today! Got phone call from the dean. Complete 10/7. $90,000 too, so that was exciting!

Teach For America, strong leadership in college.

for people that $ wasn't mentioned in call does that mean no $? also, i got a vmail and called back an hour later, and had to be patched through to the Dean, could possibly have interfered with notification of scholarship...? haha wishful thinking
