That's odd, you would think they would just pass the donation basket around the aisles during classChampagnePapi wrote:FYI, I've talked to someone on one of GULC's alumni boards and she told me that Georgetown is stingy because they have a very small endowment. They used to be run by the Catholic Church and they never did fundraising - so as a result they have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm in!!!! ED applicant so my cycle was short and sweet!
Letter came in a small envelope with handwritten note from Dean Cornblatt, very nice touch.
Statuses update went complete on 10/1 then updated 10/11---10/17 and the letter was post-marked 10/17.
167/3.85
Good luck to everybody and congrats to the other acceptances!

Just got the acceptance letter in the mail. Did not expect to hear back so early. Sort of in shock.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Congrats to everyone!
To alleviate those under stress of waiting, I was accepted today (10/22) with a 10/15 last status update, and a letter that was both dated and postmarked on 10/15, and I live in Boston -- which is definitely within 1 USPS delivery day of D.C.! So don't fret, snail mail may lag. My envelope was classified as "presorted" on the post mark, so maybe delivery got funky (although I'm still surprised that it took one whole week to travel two cities up I-95...)

Congrats everyone! Got my letter as well (my last update was 10/15). It's postmarked 10/15 but the presorted first class label has a date of either 10/15 or 10/19 -- I can't quite make it out. If it is the latter, that would explain why it took so long to get to me.

Congrats to all the admits! Got my letter today also
Went complete on 9/19, with updates on 10/1, 10/11 (I think) and 10/15. Letter dated 10/15.

The presort date definitely looks like a 19 to me, which would explain the mystery of the missing letters.one_by_one wrote:Congrats everyone! Got my letter as well (my last update was 10/15). Congrats to everyone accepted
! I wish i had been checking my status dates but i though it would have only made me more anxious. My current status date is 10/17 but i don't know if that's the first, second, or third (sent/received on 10/05; went complete on 10/8 fwiw).
For those who got accepted, did any of you have 10/17 as your last status date?
edit: nevermind. somehow i missed this post:

I have those exact dates and I'm also quite sure that the envelope is marked 10/19. The letter is dated 10/15 however.Lavitz wrote:Congrats to all the admits! Got my letter today also![]()

I'll add to the rather large pile of acceptances; I got one today as well! Congrats to everyone so far who's heard positive news!
Complete dates: 10/2 -- 10/11 -- 10/16. Letter is dated 10/15, postmarked 10/16. I live just outside of DC, so I'm a little surprised I didn't get it on Saturday, but no complaints.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I know the consensus is that G-town is stingy, but any thoughts on when we might be able to lock down some scholly info?
Prowling some threads makes it seem like applications for scholarships might start going out in Nov. with a deadline in February. Does this sound right?
Also is your only real shot at leverage an admission/money of some kind to a better school or do you guys think it's worth it to send an app to say, GW in the hopes of getting some money offered for some help in negotiations with Gtown.

No, they won't take a GW offer seriously. You'll need a peer or better.feralinfant wrote:I know the consensus is that G-town is stingy, but any thoughts on when we might be able to lock down some scholly info?
