I'm trying to prepare myself for a lot of nervous and tense afternoons next week.
Where are you getting this from? I ask because I looked through the applicant thread from last year and it looks like the first status change anybody mentioned was more like 3 PM. And yes, I recognize this is not an important distinction. Just wondering.
Last year, the first person to post the Decision Letter Sent status was indigomachine at 1:57 PM EST. If that's showing up at 3pm for you, perhaps you are in a different time zone or your daylight savings time settings are off.

Also, for ED applicants: first deferrals to Regular Decision went out on Thurs, 12/15 by email.

I believe last year, RD decisions started going out a couple of days after ED decisions.

Thanks for the info, man. If I did submit on 11/20, would I have a shot at finding out in that first batch of RD decisions, or should I plan on early Jan. at least?

If you get in, you should hear sometime in late December

Maybe I'm being an idiot but can anyone explain this?

http://www.law.nyu.edu/financialaid/bud ... /index.htm

So this is not a part of the total budget they have on the website, or is it? I notice most other schools have personal expenses itemized on the actual budget

I see, so they leave some wiggle room in the R&B budget. If I go here I will probably be aiming for one of the 2BD in D'ag

Also, those budget increases are insanely easy to obtain.

Okay - so, I need to get my App in. At 3.5 / 174, is it worth it to write the essays for the Bryce / Jacobson programs? Not an URM, but have 4ish years of corporate work experience.

You sound like a great fit for the Jacobson. Do you fit the prompt for there anbryce? If so I'd do that too

Yeah - you just need to be first in immediate family to do post college education, right? I fit.

Thanks, you too. No I didn't apply ED anywhere. I'm pretty debt averse and I think this cycle is going to be unpredictable and don't want to lock myself in anywhere if a better opportunity arises.

Depending on what urm you are I would withdraw that ED asap

So how nervous should I be for phone calls this week? I'm wondering about Michigan, NYU, and UVA... went complete around 11/7 for all of them.

Well, last year only the EDs heard on 12/6: status checker update-->able to access ASW-->admit call. The RD decisions didn't start until 12/12. But apparently that was a departure from previous cycles in which some RDs actually heard first, with a rough correlation to UR dates. But then you have to wonder if the one week lost due to the hurricane will be a factor. So...light anxiety :)

I'm UR since 11/21, submitted 10/19. I'm ED though. You have slightly better numbers than me and you're a URM (edit: wait someone said that but I don't know where they got it from) so I am hopeful that I'm stuck just like you! :)

I gotta write my AnBryce essay and send it in still, god damn it.
